Optical and photoemission evidence for a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid in the Bechgaard salts

Combined optical and photoemission experiments on the quasi-one dimensional Bechgaard salts reveal the non-Fermi liquid character of these prototype quasi-one dimensional interacting electron systems. We show that various aspects of the exotic normal state properties along the chains are consistent with the predictions of the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid theory. We also discuss the effect of interchain coupling on the insulator-metal transition, associated with the electron confinement-deconfinement crossover. Sample path large and moderate deviations for risk model with delayed claims

Sample path large and moderate deviation principles for Markov modulated risk models with delayed claims are proved by the exponential martingale method. As applications, asymptotic estimates and exponential bounds of the ruin probability are also studied.     

SAGE信道估计算法在部分相关STTC-MIMO系统中的应用

利用天线空间相关函数和方向特性将完全不相关的信道衰落矩阵映射为更符合实际的部分相关MIMO(multiple input multiple output)信道衰落矩阵,结合STTC(space-time trellis code)空时编码方式建立部分相关的STTC-MIMO系统,并将基于SAGE(space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization)的信道估计算法应用在这一系统中.结果显示,和ML(most-likelihood)估计相比,部分相关信道中使用SAGE估计算法可以使系统信噪比提高约1 dB.此外,空时编码(space-time codes)的纠错性能对MIMO系统的信噪比也有极大的影响.     

具限制投资组合和交易费用的博弈未定权益的保值

博弈期权是由kifer(2000)提出的,但就其本质而言,仍是美式期权的一种,只是增加了卖方中止合约的权利.本文主要对连续市场模型中具交易费用和限制投资组合的博弈未定权益的保值问题进行了研究,给出了买卖双方的保值价格和一个无套利区间.     

Extension of statistical replacement to systems with time-correlated fluctuations

Nonlinear systems with correlated stochastic parameters are approximated by simpler systems. This method is an extension of an earlier version of statistical replacement and statistical linearization. The extended method is applicable to systems with correlated fluctuations. We show how this general method reduces to the earlier methods in special cases.     

Efficiency of Classical and Quantum Games Equilibria

Nash equilibria and correlated equilibria of classical and quantum games are investigated in the context of their Pareto efficiency. The examples of the prisoner’s dilemma, battle of the sexes and the game of chicken are studied. Correlated equilibria usually improve Nash equilibria of games but require a trusted correlation device susceptible to manipulation. The quantum extension of these games in the Eisert–Wilkens–Lewenstein formalism and the Frąckiewicz–Pykacz parameterization is analyzed. It is shown that the Nash equilibria of these games in quantum mixed Pauli strategies are closer to Pareto optimal results than their classical counter-parts. The relationship of mixed Pauli strategies equilibria and correlated equilibria is also studied.     

Multi-Class Cost-Constrained Random Coding for Correlated Sources over the Multiple-Access Channel

This paper studies a generalized version of multi-class cost-constrained random-coding ensemble with multiple auxiliary costs for the transmission of N correlated sources over an N-user multiple-access channel. For each user, the set of messages is partitioned into classes and codebooks are generated according to a distribution depending on the class index of the source message and under the constraint that the codewords satisfy a set of cost functions. Proper choices of the cost functions recover different coding schemes including message-dependent and message-independent versions of independent and identically distributed, independent conditionally distributed, constant-composition and conditional constant composition ensembles. The transmissibility region of the scheme is related to the Cover-El Gamal-Salehi region. A related family of correlated-source Gallager source exponent functions is also studied. The achievable exponents are compared for correlated and independent sources, both numerically and analytically.     

Monitoring of metabolic profiling and water status of Hayward kiwifruits by nuclear magnetic resonance

The metabolic profiling of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa, Hayward cultivar) aqueous extracts and the water status of entire kiwifruits were monitored over the season (June-December) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methodologies. The metabolic profiling of aqueous kiwifruit extracts was investigated by means of high field NMR spectroscopy. A large number of water-soluble metabolites were assigned by means of 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The change in the metabolic profiles monitored over the season allowed the kiwifruit development to be investigated. Specific temporal trends of aminoacids, sugars, organic acids and other metabolites were observed.The water status of kiwifruits was monitored directly on the intact fruit measuring the T₂ spin-spin relaxation time by means of a portable unilateral NMR instrument, fully non-invasive. Again, clear trends of the relaxation time were observed during the monitoring period.The results show that the monitoring of the metabolic profiling and the monitoring of the water status are two complementary means suitable to have a complete view of the investigated fruit.     

Calculations of D‐wave bound states and resonance states of the screened helium atom using correlated exponential wave functions

We have investigated the effects of screened Coulomb (Yukawa) potentials on the bound ^1,3D states and the doubly excited ^1,3 D^e resonance states of helium atom using highly correlated exponential basis functions. The Density of resonance states are calculated using stabilization method. Highly correlated exponential basis functions are used to consider the correlation effect between the charged particles. A total of 18 resonances (nine each for ¹ D^e and ³ D^e states) below the n = 2 He ⁺ threshold has been calculated. For each spin states, this includes four members in the 2pnp series, three members in the 2snd series, and two members in 2pnf series. The resonance energies and widths for various screening parameters ranging from infinity to a small value for these ^1,3 D^e resonance states are reported along with the bound‐excited 1s3d ^1,3 D state energies. Overall behavior of the spectral profile of 1s3d ¹D state of helium atom due to electron‐electron and electron‐nucleus screening are also presented.
