Semicontinuity of Approximate Solution Mappings to Parametric Set-Valued Weak Vector Equilibrium Problems

In this article, we obtain some stability results for parametric weak vector equilibrium problem with set-valued mappings. By using a scalarization method, we establish sufficient conditions for the semicontinuity of the approximate solution mappings to parametric set-valued weak vector equilibrium problem under weak assumptions. These results extend and improve some known results in the literature.     

STATIONARY SOLUTION FOR A STOCHASTIC LINARD EQUATION WITH MARKOVIAN SWITCHING

This paper considers a stochastic Lienard equation with Markovian switching. The Feller continuity of its solution is proved by the coupling method and a truncation argument. The existence of a stationary solution for the equation is also proved under the Foster-Lyapunov drift condition.     

Compatibility between finite volumes and finite elements using solutions of shallow water equations for substance transport

This paper formulates a finite volume analogue of a finite element schematization of three‐dimensional shallow water equations. The resulting finite volume schematization, when applied to the continuity equation, exactly reproduces the set of matrix equations that is obtained by the application of the corresponding finite element schematization to the continuity equation. The procedure allows the consistent and mass conserving coupling of the finite element Telemac model for three‐dimensional flow with the finite volume Delft3D‐WAQ model for water quality. The work has been carried out as part of a joint development by LNHE and WL∣Delft Hydraulics to explore the mutual interaction of their software. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Perturbation of complex polynomials and normal operators

We study the regularity of the roots of complex monic polynomials P (t) of fixed degree depending smoothly on a real parameter t. We prove that each continuous parameterization of the roots of a generic C^∞ curve P (t) (which always exists) is locally absolutely continuous. Generic means that no two of the continuously chosen roots meet of infinite order of flatness. Simple examples show that one cannot expect a better regularity than absolute continuity. This result will follow from the proposition that for any t₀ there exists a positive integer N such that t ? P (t₀ ± (t – t₀)^N ) admits smooth parameterizations of its roots near t₀. We show that Cⁿ curves P (t) (where n = deg P) admit differentiable roots if and only if the order of contact of the roots is ≥ 1. We give applications to the perturbation theory of normal matrices and unbounded normal operators with compact resolvents and common domain of definition: The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a generic C^∞ curve of such operators can be arranged locally in an absolutely continuous way (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Oscillation for almost continuity

Let X be a topological space and (Y,d) be a metric space. If f: X → Y is a function then there is a function a _f : X → [0, ∞] such that f is almost continuous at x if and only if a _f (x) = 0. On weighted L p integrability and approximation of trigonometric series

We generalize several classical results on the integrability of trigonometric series and relations among the best approximation and the coefficients of trigonometric series. Theorem 3 and Theorem 4 are the first results on the relations among the weighted best approximation and the coefficients of trigonometric series.
