The general form of the amplitude equations for a hexagonal pattern including spatial terms is discussed. At the lowest order we obtain the phase equation for such patterns. The general expressionof the diffusion coefficients is given and the contributions of thenew spatial terms are analysed in this paper. From these coefficientsthe phase stability regions in a hexagonal pattern are determined. Systems of interacting cells containing an activator–inhibitor pathway, regulating naturally in their inner parts their end-product concentrations through a sequence of biochemical reactions with feedback-loops: an end-product inhibition of the first substrate, and an autocatalytic activation of the end-product through an allosteric enzyme-mediated reaction are investigated. The individual cells are considered to be identical and are described by nonlinear differential equations recently proposed following the concerted transition model. The chemical and electrical coupling types, realized by exchange of metabolites across concentration of the cells are used in order to analyze the onset of phase and complete synchronization in the biochemical system. It is found that depending on the coupling nature and the range of coupling strength, cells enter into different synchronization regimes going from low-quality to high-quality synchronization. The synchronization manifold's stability is analyzed. The results are supported by numerical simulations using indicators such as the conditional Lyapunov exponents and the rate of change of the Lyapunov function. The results indicate that the system cannot completely synchronize under the single action of the chemical coupling. The combined effect of both chemical and electrical couplings is found to be of capital importance in the onset of complete synchronization and high quality synchronization. 相似文献

Structural features of various molecular systems with symmetry of point groups ranging fromC
1 to the icosahedral symmetry are analyzed in the framework of the model suggested previously for the evaluation of order and disorder in the arrangement of atoms in a molecule based on the equationQ = I -P/3n (whereQ is the index of order, andP is the number of independent coordinates needed to fix ann-atomic molecule in the Cartesian coordinate system). TheQ value depends on various structural parameters of the molecule: the number of atoms in it, the symmetry, the dimensionality, and the number of structural degrees of freedom. The disorder indexP/3n = 1 -Q correlates with Shannon's entropy of information, andQ correlates with negentropy or excess information; this makes it possible to useP/3n as a new geometrical information molecular index that is obtained by a nonprobabilistic method. Controlling chaotic economic systems is an important problem. The Ott, Grebogi and Yorke (1990) method is a way to control chaos gradually. However, in order to apply this method the control parameter has to be close to a prescribed value. To achieve this, the targeting method of Shinbrot Ott, Grebogi and Yorke can be applied first to speed up convergence. In this paper the Ott et al method is modified so that the system is guided gradually out of the chaotic region and in the stability zone. The control parameter does not have to be in a prescribed region. The method is applied to the Puu formulation of Cournot dynamic duopoly and oligopoly models. 相似文献

For the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation with L-periodic boundary conditions we show that the radius of space analyticity on the global attractor is lower-semicontinuous function at the stationary solutions, and thereby deduce the existence of a neighborhood in the global attractor of the set of all stationary solutions in which the radius of analyticity is independent of the bifurcation parameter L. The dimensionless partial differential equations governing thedynamics of a thin flexible isotropic plate with an external load arederived and investigated. The period doubling bifurcations, as well asthe chaotic dynamics, are detected and analyzed.
