By using the theory of Riordan arrays, we establish four pairs of general r-Stirling number identities, which reduce to various identities on harmonic numbers, hyperharmonic numbers, the Stirling numbers of the first and second kind, the r-Stirling numbers of the first and second kind, and the r-Lah numbers. We further discuss briefly the connections between the r-Stirling numbers and the Cauchy numbers, the generalized hyperharmonic numbers, and the poly-Bernoulli polynomials. Many known identities are shown to be special cases of our results, and the combinatorial interpretations of several particular identities are also presented as supplements.  相似文献

We conclude the construction of the algebraic complex, consisting of spaces of differentials of Euclidean metric values, for four-dimensional piecewise-linear manifolds. Assuming that the complex is acyclic, we investigate how its torsion changes under rebuildings of the manifold triangulation. We first write formulas for moves 33 and 24 based on the results in our two previous works and then study moves 15 in detail. Based on this, we obtain the formula for a four-dimensional manifold invariant. As an example, we present a detailed calculation of our invariant for the sphere S 4; in particular, the complex does turn out to be acyclic.  相似文献

In this article, we study the Drude models of Maxwell's equations in three‐dimensional metamaterials. We derive new global energy‐tracking identities for the three dimensional electromagnetic problems in the Drude metamaterials, which describe the invariance of global electromagnetic energy in variation forms. We propose the time second‐order global energy‐tracking splitting FDTD schemes for the Drude model in three dimensions. The significant feature is that the developed schemes are global energy‐preserving, unconditionally stable, second‐order accurate both in time and space, and computationally efficient. We rigorously prove that the new schemes satisfy these energy‐tracking identities in the discrete form and the discrete variation form and are unconditionally stable. We prove that the schemes in metamaterials are second order both in time and space. The superconvergence of the schemes in the discrete H1 norm is further obtained to be second order both in time and space. Their approximations of divergence‐free are also analyzed to have second‐order accuracy both in time and space. Euler's identity equates the number of partitions of any non-negative integer n into odd parts and the number of partitions of n into distinct parts. Beck conjectured and Andrews proved the following companion to Euler's identity: the excess of the number of parts in all partitions of n into odd parts over the number of parts in all partitions of n into distinct parts equals the number of partitions of n with exactly one even part (possibly repeated). Beck's original conjecture was followed by generalizations and so-called “Beck-type” companions to other identities.In this paper, we establish a collection of Beck-type companion identities to the following result mentioned by Lehmer at the 1974 International Congress of Mathematicians: the excess of the number of partitions of n with an even number of even parts over the number of partitions of n with an odd number of even parts equals the number of partitions of n into distinct, odd parts. We also establish various generalizations of Lehmer's identity, and prove related Beck-type companion identities. We use both analytic and combinatorial methods in our proofs.  相似文献

Within Archimedean -groups, and with an infinite cardinal or , we consider X-hulls where X stands for any of the following classes of -groups: -projectable; laterally -complete; boundedly laterally -complete; conditionally -complete; combinations of the preceding, together with divisibility and/or relative uniform completeness. All these hulls exist, and may be obtained by iterated adjunction of the required extra elements, within the essential hull. When the -groups is relatively -complemented one step in the iteration suffices for several crucial properties.
