Co-hydrolysis and Seed-Induced Synthesis of Basic Mesoporous ZSM-5 Zeolites with Enhanced Catalytic Performance

For zeolite catalysts, the regulation of active site and pore structure plays an important role in the enhancement of their catalytic performance. In this work, a one-pot and organic template-free co-regulation route is proposed to straightforwardly synthesize basic mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolites with adjustable alkaline-earth metal species. The synthesis pathway combines two decisive strategies: 1) the seed-induced interface assembly growth method and 2) the acidic co-hydrolysis/condensation of aluminosilicate species and alkaline-earth metal (e.g., Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba) sources. It is interesting that the mesoporous structure was self-evolved through particle-attached seed-interfacial crystallization without the assistance of any template. Meanwhile, the incorporation of alkaline-earth metals species is homogeneous and highly dispersed in the solid products during the whole crystallization process, and finally generate the superior basicity. Catalysis tests of the as-synthesized samples displayed their novel performance in the typical base reaction of Knoevenagel condensation, even for bulky substrates owing to the enhanced diffusion arising from the meso/microporous network. This finding opens new possibilities for facile, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly synthesis of mesoporous high-silica zeolites with tunable acid/base properties, and deepens our understanding of the particle-attached crystallization.     

Multistrain edge‐based compartmental model on networks

Multistrain diseases, which are infected through individual contacts, pose severe public health threat nowadays. In this paper, we build competitive and mutative two‐strain edge‐based compartmental models using probability generation function (PGF) and pair approximation (PA). Both of them are ordinary differential equations. Their basic reproduction numbers and final size formulas are explicitly derived. We show that the formula gives a unique positive final epidemic size when the reproduction number is larger than unity. We further consider competitive and mutative multistrain diseases spreading models and compute their basic reproduction numbers. We perform numerical simulations that show some dynamical properties of the competitive and mutative two‐strain models.

Polyethylene Glycol‐(N‐Methylimidazolium) Hydroxide‐Grafted γ‐Fe2O3@HAp: A Novel Nanomagnetic Recyclable Basic Phase‐Transfer Catalyst for the Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzopyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

Polyethylene glycol‐(N‐methylimidazolium) hydroxide‐grafted hydroxyapatite encapsulated γ‐Fe₂O₃ nanoparticles, γ‐Fe₂O₃@HAp@PEG(mim)OH, were prepared and characterized by FTIR, SEM, TEM, TGA, and EDAX. This nanocomposite was applied as a novel, green, nanomagnetic, and recyclable basic phase‐transfer catalyst for the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzopyrans in high yields via the three‐component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and dimedone or 1,3‐cyclohexanedione in aqueous media at ambient temperature.     

Syntheses of 1,5-Benzothiazepines-Part XXXI: Syntheses and Antimicrobial Studies of 10-Substituted-7- (monochlorophenyl/dichlorophenyl)-6H-6a,7-dihydro-6-phenyl[1]benzopyrano[3,4-c]-[1,5]benzothiazepines

Abstract

Two flavindogenides, 3-(2-chlorobenzylidene)-flavanone and 3-(2,4-dichloro- benzylidene)-flavanone reacted with six 5-substituted-2-aminobenzenethiols, the substituents being fluoro, chloro, bromo, methyl, methoxyl, and ethoxyl, to give respective 12 new compounds, 10-substituted-7-(2-chlorophenyl/2,4-dichlorophenyl)- 6H-6a,7-dihydro-6-phenyl[1]benzopyrano[3,4?c][1,5]benzothiazepines (5a–l) in 60–70% yields. The products were characterized on the basis of microanalytical data for elements and IR, ¹ H, and ¹³ C NMR and mass spectral studies. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against the bacteria,Escherichia coli and GFC,and the fungi,Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus,and Curvularia lunata.     

Study on Dyeing Properties of Functional Acrylic Fiber

Anti‐mite acrylic fiber is a new type of functional fiber which incorporates a small amount of anti‐mite agent. Basic dye can be used in the dyeing of the functional acrylic fiber. Compared with the dyeing properties of conventional fibers, the dyeing properties of the functional acrylic fiber have new characteristics such as different dyeing temperature, time, amount of leveling agent and pH level due to the rough surface and larger size of micro‐channels in the functional fiber structure that helps basic dye molecules to diffuse into the fiber.     

吗啡啉碱性离子液体催化合成油酸甲酯

采用两步法合成了由阳离子N-甲基-N-丁基吗啡啉和阴离子氢氧根搭配的[Nbmm]OH新型碱性离子液体。实验利用FT-IR、元素分析和TGA分别对该离子液体的化学结构和热稳定性进行了表征。结果表明,该离子液体的热稳定性超过200℃。对该离子液体的溶解性能进行了考察, 结果表明,该离子液体能与强极性溶剂互溶,而且其水溶液的碱性较强。为了考察该离子液体对酯化反应的催化活性,实验过程中以油酸和甲醇反应生成油酸甲酯的酯化反应为模型反应,评价该离子液体的催化活性。结果表明,当反应温度60℃、酸醇比为1:6、离子液体加入量为原料总质量的15%、反应10 h时,油酸转化率达93.9%,而且该离子液体易于从反应体系中分离,可以循环使用。

探究镁与氯化钠溶液反应的微观过程*

镁在常温下和水发生反应的速率较慢,这是因为镁表面存在氢氧化镁附着层的保护作用,但是镁可以和NaCl溶液发生较快的反应,在产生大量气泡的同时生成白色固体。通过对白色固体进行分析发现,在有Cl^-的环境下氢氧化镁会逐渐转化为碱式氯化镁,同时也会导致溶液pH的升高。经过实验探究发现,镁在不同浓度NaCl溶液中的反应现象存在差异,在反应过程中溶解氧含量也会下降。
