本文研究了一个四阶椭圆型积分微分方程的奇摄动问题。证明了相应的比较定理并得到了解的一致有效的渐近展开式。     

ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF SOLUTIONS OF NONLINEAR NEUTRAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION

The boundedness of the every solution and the asymptotic behavior of all solutions of the nonlinear neutral delay differential equation [x(t) - P(t)x(t - t)]' Q1 (t)f(x{t-σ1))-Q2(t)f(x(t -σ2))=0,t≥t0 are investigated, whereτ,σ1,σ2∈(0,∞), P∈C([t0,∞),R), and Q1,Q2∈C([t0,∞),R), f∈C(R,R). The sufficient conditions obtained improve the existing results in the literatures.     

On uniformly Gâteaux smooth norms and normal structure

It is shown that every separable Banach space admits an equivalent norm that is uniformly Gâteaux smooth and yet lacks asymptotic normal structure.

     

Asymptotic analysis of elastic curved rods

We consider a sequence of curved rods which consist of isotropic material and which are clamped on the lower base or on both bases. We study the asymptotic behaviour of the stress tensor and displacement under the assumptions of linearized elasticity when the cross‐sectional diameter of the rods tends to zero and the body force is given in the particular form. The analysis covers the case of a non‐smooth limit line of centroids. We show how the body force and the choice of the approximating curved rods can affect the strong convergence and the limit form of the stress tensor for the curved rods clamped on both bases. Towards Strong Duality in Integer Programming

We consider in this paper the Lagrangian dual method for solving general integer programming. New properties of Lagrangian duality are derived by a means of perturbation analysis. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition for a primal optimal solution to be generated by the Lagrangian relaxation is obtained. The solution properties of Lagrangian relaxation problem are studied systematically. To overcome the difficulties caused by duality gap between the primal problem and the dual problem, we introduce an equivalent reformulation for the primal problem via applying a pth power to the constraints. We prove that this reformulation possesses an asymptotic strong duality property. Primal feasibility and primal optimality of the Lagrangian relaxation problems can be achieved in this reformulation when the parameter p is larger than a threshold value, thus ensuring the existence of an optimal primal-dual pair. We further show that duality gap for this partial pth power reformulation is a strictly decreasing function of p in the case of a single constraint. Large Sample Properties of Mixture Models with Covariates for Competing Risks

We study the large-sample properties of a class of parametric mixture models with covariates for competing risks. The models allow general distributions for the survival times and incorporate the idea of long-term survivors. Asymptotic results are obtained under a commonly assumed independent censoring mechanism and some modest regularity conditions on the survival distributions. The existence, consistency, and asymptotic normality of maximum likelihood estimators for the parameters of the model are rigorously derived under general sufficient conditions. Specific conditions for particular models can be derived from the general conditions for ready check. In addition, a likelihood-ratio statistic is proposed to test various hypotheses of practical interest, and its asymptotic distribution is provided.     

Sums of Two Exact Powers

An asymptotic formula is obtained for the number of representations of an element of a finite field as a weighted sum of two prescribed powers of primitive elements. This generalises previous work on sums of primitive elements, including that relating to some conjectures of Golomb.

Consistency of a myopic Bayesian algorithm for one-dimensional global optimization

A sequential Bayesian method for finding the maximum of a function based on myopically minimizing the expected dispersion of conditional probabilities is described. It is shown by example that an algorithm that generates a dense set of observations need not converge to the correct answer for some priors on continuous functions on the unit interval. For the Brownian motion prior the myopic algorithm is consistent; for any continuous function, the conditional probabilities converge weakly to a point mass at the true maximum.     

PERSISTENCE AND GLOBAL STABILITY FOR TWO-SPECIES NONAUTONOMOUS PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEM WITH DIFFUSION AND TIME DELAY

In this paper, a non-autonomous predator-prey model with diffusion andcontinuous time delay is studied, where the prey can diffuse between two pat-ches of a heterogeneous environment with barriers between patches, but for thepredator, the diffusion does not involve a barrier between patches, further itis assumed that all the parameters are time-dependent. It is shown that thesystem can be made persistent under some appropriate conditions. Moreover,sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of a unique periodic solutionwhich is globally asymptotic stable are derived.
