A generalized Adadorov theory for anisotropic thin-walled beams

This paper presents a generalized Adadorov theory for anisotropic thin—walled beams. The theory takes account of the shear strain of the middle surface, which exerts a significant influence on the anisotropic thin-walled beams. A new approach is established to solve the governing equations, which have the same form for both open and closed section beams. The numerical examples show that the effects of the shear strain cannot be neglected for this class of beams.This work was part of research project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China     

«Living polymers» in organic solvents: Bicopper (II) tetracarboxylate solutions

Summary Viscoelastic solutions of a binuclear copper(II) tetracarboxylate (Cu₂S₈) in tert-butylcyclohexane (TBC) have been investigated by rheology and small-angle neutron scattering techniques. The data are analysed in the theoretical framework of the so-called ?living polymers?. The Cu₂S₈ aggregates are semi-rigid thin heterogeneous molecular threads undergoing scission/recombination reactions. Structural and dynamical correlations have been made with the thermotropic columnar phase and some lyotropic swollen mesophases of the system. The simplicity of the composition and structural constitution enables to avoid the usual salt and composition problems of the aqueous analogues and also to deduce some most probable behaviours related to the scission mechanisms, chain flexibility and dynamics of stress relaxation. 聚丙烯酸长链酯的Huggins常数与其分子量的依赖性关系

聚丙烯酸高碳醇酯(PBA)及聚丙烯酸十八醇酯(POA)是具有长烷基侧链的梳状聚合物,在溶剂苯中的Huggins常数(k′)随其分子量(M)的变化而变化.在PBA-苯体系中发现,当M低于某一临界分子量(MLC)时,k′随分子量的降低显著增大;当M大于某临界分子量(MHC)时,k′随分子量的升高而增大;当M在MLC～MHC时,k′基本上保持不变.而在POA-苯体系中发现,当M低于某一临界分子量(MC)时,k′随分子量的降低显著增大;当M大于该临界分子量(MC)时,k′在0.33～0.43变化.文中同时给出了精确算法用来计算PBA-苯体系及POA-苯体系中PBA及POA的特性粘度.当k′＞0.758时,用稀释外推法计算;当0.758＞k′＞0.426时,用一点法公式[η]=ηsp/C(√)ηr计算;当0.426＞k′＞0.334时,用另一一点法公式[η]=(√)2(ηsp-lnηr)/C计算.     

A co‐ordinate system independent streamwise upwind method for fluid flow computation

A new co‐ordinate invariant streamwise upwind formulation for convection dominated flows is developed. The eddy diffusivity/viscosity is added directly to the equations in order to remove the oscillations in the solution. The equations then can be solved by any high‐order scheme and the solution retains the accuracy of the high‐order scheme. The accuracy and reduced lateral thickness growth rate are demonstrated with several numerical examples, including pure convective flows and lid‐driven cavity flow. The lateral spreading due to the numerical diffusion is controlled by the anisotropic tensor. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

辽河冷家油田特稠油降粘剂LJVR-1及其性能评价

采用荧光法测定了辽河冷家油田冷47-556井特稠油乳化HLB值,然后以混合型表面活性剂、非离子型表面活性剂为主剂,快速渗透剂为辅剂按一定比例制备了水基降粘剂LJVR-1.实验结果表明,该降粘剂具有良好的乳化降粘性能,开采后易于破乳脱水,是一种较为理想的特稠油降粘剂.     

A posteriori H1 error estimation for a singularly perturbed reaction diffusion problem on anisotropic meshes

The paper deals with a singularly perturbed reaction diffusionmodel problem. The focus is on reliable a posteriori error estimatorsfor the H¹ seminorm that can be applied to anisotropic finiteelement meshes. A residual error estimator and a local problemerror estimator are proposed and rigorously analysed. They arelocally equivalent, and both bound the error reliably. Threemodifications of these estimators are introduced and discussed. Much attention is given to the performance of the error estimatorin numerical experiments. This helps to identify those estimatorsthat are suitable for practical applications.     

Active control and a simple estimation method for the onset of Rayleigh-Bénard convection in temperature-dependent-viscosity liquids

Active feedback control for the onset of Rayleigh-Bénard Convection in temperature-dependent-viscosity liquids is investigated. In this paper, three major problems are addressed: (1) The results of Tang-Bau control are improved by considering the effects of temperature-dependent viscosity; (2) A more efficient two-plate control strategy is presented. A phenomenon of coalescence of the unstable modes is observed as the controller gain is large enough; (3) A simple way to estimate the critical Rayleigh number under the effects of temperature-dependent viscosity is described. Numerical results show that the effects of temperature-dependent viscosity on the critical Rayleigh number should be taken into account in some cases and the onset of Rayleigh-Bénard convection can be effectively delayed or advanced by the active feedback control strategies studied here.     

Statistical approach to light scattering from deformed textured heterogeneous polymer materials

A statistical theory of light scattering from deformed isotropic and textured heterogeneous polymer materials is formulated. Two types of textured structures are analyzed: assemblies of optically isotropic and anisotropic rods and a spatially anisotropic distribution of isotropic spherical inclusion centers. The small-angle H_v light-scattering patterns are calculated. The appearance of scattering from isotropic rods and spheres in deformed materials has been demonstrated. The changes of the H_v scattering patterns as a function of elongation and strucuture parameters are discussed. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

THE LARGE TIME BEHAVIOR OF SPECTRAL APPROXIMATION FOR A CLASS OF PSEUDOPARABOLIC VISCOUS DIFFUSION EQUATION

The asymptotic behavior of the solutions to a class of pseudoparabolic viscous diffusion equation with periodic initial condition is studied by using the spectral method. The semidiscrete Fourier approximate solution of the problem is constructed and the error estiation between spectral approximate solution and exact solution on large time is also obtained. The existence of the approximate attractor AN and the upper semicontinuity d(AN,A)→0 are proved.     

某类一阶非线性双曲型方程的Cauchy问题

本文考虑一类具实际物理背景的一阶非线性双曲型方程，证明了解的存在唯一及正则性。
