Disjunctive Programs can often be transcribed as reverse convex constrained problems with nondifferentiable constraints and
unbounded feasible regions. We consider this general class of nonconvex programs, called Reverse Convex Programs (RCP), and
show that under quite general conditions, the closure of the convex hull of the feasible region is polyhedral. This development
is then pursued from a more constructive standpoint, in that, for certain special reverse convex sets, we specify a finite
linear disjunction whose closed convex hull coincides with that of the special reverse convex set. When interpreted in the
context of convexity/intersection cuts, this provides the capability of generating any (negative edge extension) facet cut.
Although this characterization is more clarifying than computationally oriented, our development shows that if certain bounds
are available, then convexity/intersection cuts can be strengthened relatively inexpensively. 相似文献

We present a model for demagnetization in photomagnetic films, and investigate different regimes for the magnetizing process using finite element analysis. It is found that the demagnetizing factor may depend strongly upon the high-spin fraction of the film, and the specifics of the dependence are dictated by the microscopic morphology of the photomagnetic domains. This picture allows for facile interpretation of existing data on photomagnetic films, and can even explain an observed photoinduced decrease in low-field magnetization concurrent with increase in high-spin fraction. We consider two tests of the null hypothesis that the k-th derivative of a regression function is uniformly bounded by a specified constant. These tests can be used to study the shape of the regression function. For instance, we can test for convexity of the regression function by setting k=2 and the constant equal to zero. Our tests are based on k-th order divided difference of the observations. In this paper we propose a method for optimizing convex performance functions in stochastic systems. These functions can include
expected performance in static systems and steady-state performance in discrete-event dynamic systems; they may be nonsmooth.
The method is closely related to retrospective simulation optimization; it appears to overcome some limitations of stochastic
approximation, which is often applied to such problems. We explain the method and give computational results for two classes
of problems: tandem production lines with up to 50 machines, and stochastic PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique)
problems with up to 70 nodes and 110 arcs.

Voice characteristics, effects of voice therapy, and long-term follow-up of contact granuloma patients 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This study evaluates the laryngoscopic findings and voice characteristics of male contact granuloma patients before and after voice therapy and at a follow-up about 9 years later. Pre- and posttherapy recordings as well as follow-up recordings were made for 19 granuloma patients. Pretherapy revealed the most salient perceptual voice characteristics were low pitch, monotony, and a high degree of vocal fry and hyperfunction. Interjudge reliability for these traits was high. Immediately following therapy the healed patients (n = 10) had a decrease in hyperfunction, vocal fry, and monotony, while the unhealed patients (n = 9) had an increase in hyperfunction and vocal fry decreased only marginally. Monotony decreased significantly in this group. As regards the acoustic analyses, no significant differences were found in mean fundamental frequency (F0) or perturbation. At the follow-up assessment 4 patients had granuloma while 15 had normal laryngeal status. Perceptually their voice characteristics resembled those pretherapy independently of the laryngeal findings. The results suggest that reduced hyperfunction and decreased vocal fry may create better circumstances for the healing process at the posterior glottis. 相似文献

针对目前行波管放大器模拟预失真技术中存在的幅度和相位特性关联性强的问题,提出一种双路矢量合成式预失真器。该预失真器由90电桥、模拟电调衰减器和反射式二极管预失真电路构成。根据理论分析和ADS软件仿真结果加工了实际电路并进行测试。实测结果表明:在工作频率29~31 GHz和额定输入功率区间内,该电路可实现与行波管特性相反的预失真性能;合理调整两支路偏置电压,可实现相位扩张改变30,而增益扩张变化量小于1 dB的性能,有效减小了模拟预失真器幅度和相位特性的关联性。 相似文献
