An efficient numerical method is presented for solving the equations of motion for viscous fluids. The equations are discretized on the basis of unstructured finite element meshes and then solved by direct iteration. Advective fluxes are temporarily fixed at each iteration to provide a linearized set of coupled equations which are then also solved by iteration using a fully implicit algebraic multigrid (AMG) scheme. A rapid convergence to machine accuracy is achieved that is almost mesh-independent. The scaling of computing time with mesh size is therefore close to the optimum. 相似文献

Based on the stress transport model, a rate-dependent algebraic expression for the Reynolds stress tensor is developed. It is shown that the new model includes the normal stress effects and exhibits viscoelastic behavior. Furthermore, it is compatible with recently developed improved models of turbulence. The model is also consistent with the limiting behavior of turbulence in the inertial sublayer and is capable of predicting secondary flows in noncircular ducts. The TEACH code is modified according to the requirements of the rate-dependent model and is used to predict turbulent flow fields in a channel and behind a backward-facing step. The predicted results are compared with the available experimental data and those obtained from the standard k-ε and algebraic stress models. It is shown that the predictions of the new model are in better agreements with the experimental data. 相似文献

We present an algorithm for fitting implicitly defined algebraic spline surfaces to given scattered data. By simultaneously approximating points and associated normal vectors, we obtain a method which is computationally simple, as the result is obtained by solving a system of linear equations. In addition, the result is geometrically invariant, as no artificial normalization is introduced. The potential applications of the algorithm include the reconstruction of free-form surfaces in reverse engineering. In 1991, one of the authors showed the existence of quadratic transformations between the Painlevé VI equations with local monodromy differences (1/2, a, b, ±1/2) and (a, a, b, b). In the present paper we give concise forms of these transformations. They are related to the quadratic transformations obtained by Manin and Ramani–Grammaticos–Tamizhmani via Okamoto transformations. To avoid cumbersome expressions with differentiation, we use contiguous relations instead of the Okamoto transformations. The 1991 transformation is particularly important as it can be realized as a quadratic‐pull back transformation of isomonodromic Fuchsian equations.
