We present a new bundle method in which the use of the proximal trajectory of the cutting plane function allows the automatic tuning of the proximity parameter. An updating criterion of the stability center based on the agreement between the objective function and the polyhedral model is presented. I give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Unitary local systems with prescribed local monodromies on P1 – S where S is a finite set. This is used to give an algorithm to decide if a rigid local system on P1 – S has finite global monodromy, thereby answering a question of N. Katz. The methods of this article (use of Harder–Narasimhan filtrations) are used to strengthen Klyachko's theorem on sums of Hermitian matrices. We show that in the case of a Bohr-Sommerfeld Lagrangian embedding into a pseudo-Einstein symplectic manifold, a certain universal 1-cohomology class, analogous to the Maslov class, can be defined. In contrast to the Maslov index, the presented class is directly related to the minimality problem for Lagrangian submanifolds if the ambient pseudo-Einstein manifold admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. We interpret the presented class geometrically as a certain obstruction to the continuation of one-dimensional supercycles from the Lagrangian submanifold to the ambient symplectic manifold. 相似文献

A class of new affine-scaling interior-point Newton-type methods are considered for the solution of optimization problems
with bound constraints. The methods are shown to be locally quadratically convergent under the strong second order sufficiency
condition without assuming strict complementarity of the solution. The new methods differ from previous ones by Coleman and
Li [Mathematical Programming, 67 (1994), pp. 189–224] and Heinkenschloss, Ulbrich, and Ulbrich [Mathematical Programming, 86 (1999), pp. 615–635] mainly in the choice of the scaling matrix. The scaling matrices used here have stronger smoothness
properties and allow the application of standard results from non smooth analysis in order to obtain a relatively short and
elegant local convergence result. An important tool for the definition of the new scaling matrices is the correct identification
of the degenerate indices. Some illustrative numerical results with a comparison of the different scaling techniques are also

This is a survey of work done in the past two decades relating a basic equation of general relativity and quantum field theory
with the theory of stable vector bundles and stable principal bundles, as well as providing moduli spaces for such objects,
and compactifying them.
This is an updated version of a previous one which met an internal publication with occasion of the memorial homage in October
2003 to prof. José María Fraile, a friend and analyst member of our faculty then departed. Since perhaps this short exposition
of facts may help to outsiders interested in the subject, or help people just entering the field, we have found it convenient
to take advantage of the lecture of the second author on this subject in Ouro Preto 2007, to provide in this volume of wider
