Dynamic Strategic Pricing and Speed of Diffusion

Defining speed of diffusion as the amount of time it takes to get from one penetration level to a higher one, we introduce a dynamic model in which we study the link between pricing policy, speed of diffusion, and number of competitors in the market. Our analysis shows that, in the case of strategic (oligopolistic) competition, the speed of diffusion has an important influence on the optimal pricing policy. In particular, we find that higher speeds of diffusion create an incentive to strategically interacting firms to lower their prices.     

Remarks on the Regularity to 3-D Ideal Magnetohydrodynamic Equations

In this paper we are interested in the sufficient conditions which guarantee the regularityof solutions of 3-D ideal magnetohydrodynamic equations in the arbitrary time interval [0,T].Fivesufficient conditions are given.Our results are motivated by two main ideas:one is to control theaccumulation of vorticity alone;the other is to generalize the corresponding geometric conditions of3-D Euler equations to 3-D ideal magnetohydrodynamic equations.     

Continuous dependence on modelling for a complex Ginzburg–Landau equation with complex coefficients

Continuous dependence on a modelling parameter is established for solutions of a problem for a complex Ginzburg–Landau equation. A homogenizing boundary condition is also used to discuss the continuous dependence results. On Modular Forms Arising from a Differential Equation of Hypergeometric Type

Modular and quasimodular solutions of a specific second order differential equation in the upper-half plane, which originates from a study of supersingular j-invariants in the first author's work with Don Zagier, are given explicitly. Positivity of Fourier coefficients of some of the solutions as well as a characterization of the differential equation are also discussed.     

A note on the necessary conditions for the algebraic Riccati equation

We derive some useful and easily computable necessary conditionsfor the existence of a positive semi-definite solution to thealgebraic Ricatti equation (ARE). A motivating example is givento highlight the usefulness of the conditions for controllerand observer designs for nonlinear systems. Further, an upperbound on the trace of the solution to the ARE is also derived.     

Continuation of travelling‐wave solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations

An efficient way of obtaining travelling waves in a periodic fluid system is described and tested. We search for steady states in a reference frame travelling at the wave phase velocity using a first‐order pseudospectral semi‐implicit time scheme adapted to carry out the Newton's iterations. The method is compared to a standard Newton–Raphson solver and is shown to be highly efficient in performing this task, even when high‐resolution grids are used. Analytic Feynman integrals of transforms of variation of cylinder type functions over Wiener paths in abstract Wiener space

In this paper, we evaluate various analytic Feynman integrals of first variation, conditional first variation, Fourier-Feynman transform and conditional Fourier-Feynman transform of cylinder type functions defined over Wiener paths in abstract Wiener space. We also derive the analytic Feynman integral of the conditional Fourier-Feynman transform for the product of the cylinder type functions which define the functions in a Banach algebra introduced by Yoo, with n linear factors.
