Derivations, isomorphisms, and second cohomology of generalized Witt algebras

Generalized Witt algebras, over a field of characteristic , were defined by Kawamoto about 12 years ago. Using different notations from Kawamoto's, we give an essentially equivalent definition of generalized Witt algebras over , where the ingredients are an abelian group , a vector space over , and a map which is linear in the first variable and additive in the second one. In this paper, the derivations of any generalized Witt algebra
, with the right kernel of being , are explicitly described; the isomorphisms between any two simple generalized Witt algebras are completely determined; and the second cohomology group for any simple generalized Witt algebra is computed. The derivations, the automorphisms and the second cohomology groups of some special generalized Witt algebras have been studied by several other authors as indicated in the references.

     

Bilinear operators on Herz-type Hardy spaces

The authors prove that bilinear operators given by finite sums of products of Calderón-Zygmund operators on are bounded from into if and only if they have vanishing moments up to a certain order dictated by the target space. Here are homogeneous Herz-type Hardy spaces with and . As an application they obtain that the commutator of a Calderón-Zygmund operator with a BMO function maps a Herz space into itself.

     

Absence of Subsystems for the Haag–Kastler Net Generated by the Energy-Momentum Tensor in Two-Dimensional Conformal Field Theory

We show that if A is the Haag–Kastler net generated by the energy-momentum tensor in a chiral quantum field theory, then every subsystem B A which is covariant under the action of SL(2,R given on A must coincide with A. The result is valid for all the allowed values of the central charge and is obtained using scaling limit techniques.     

Reduced Crossed Products of Pro-Banach Algebras*

This paper gives the concept of the reduced pro-Banach algebra crossed product associated with inversely pro-Banach algebra dynamical system, and shows that the reduced crossed product is an inverse limit of an inverse system of Banach algebra crossed products. Also, the authors show that if the locally compact group is amenable, then the crossed product and the reduced crossed product are isometrically isomorphic.     

Counting irreducible polynomials with prescribed coefficients over a finite field

We continue our study on counting irreducible polynomials over a finite field with prescribed coefficients. We set up a general combinatorial framework using generating functions with coefficients from a group algebra which is generated by equivalence classes of polynomials with prescribed coefficients. Simplified expressions are derived for some special cases. Our results extend some earlier results.     

I-factorial quantum torsors and Heisenberg algebras of quantized universal enveloping type

We introduce a notion of I-factorial quantum torsor, which consists of an integrable ergodic action of a locally compact quantum group on a type I-factor such that also the crossed product is a type I-factor. We show that any such I-factorial quantum torsor is at the same time a I-factorial quantum torsor for the dual locally compact quantum group, in such a way that the construction is involutive. As a motivating example, we show that quantized compact semisimple Lie groups, when amplified via a crossed product construction with the function algebra on the associated weight lattice, admit I-factorial quantum torsors, and give an explicit realization of the dual quantum torsor in terms of a deformed Heisenberg algebra for the Borel part of a quantized universal enveloping algebra.     

The Canonical Basis for the Quantum Group of Type B2

We use the Ringel-Hall algebra approach to study the canonical basis elements for the quantum group of type B₂ which are characterized in Xi [12]. However, our approach simplifies several computations there.
