We study the control of spontaneous emission in a five-level atomic system driven by four fields. We show that with the variation of dynamical variables, namely, Rabi frequencies and carrier phases of driven fields, a wide variety of the spectral behavior can be obtained, including extreme spectral narrowing. In this paper, we study the optimal control on the boundary for parabolic equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients arising from the heat transfer problems and the optimal control on the boundary of composite materials or porous media. The multiscale asymptotic expansion of the solution for the problem in the case without any constraints is presented. We derive the proofs of all convergence results.  相似文献

Abstract. We formulate a robust optimal stopping-time problem for a state-space system and give the connection between various notions of lower value function for the associated games (and storage function for the associated dissipative system) with solutions of the appropriate variational inequality (VI) (the analogue of the Hamilton—Jacobi—Bellman—Isaacs equation for this setting). We show that the stopping-time rule can be obtained by solving the VI in the viscosity sense and a positive definite supersolution of the VI can be used for stability analysis.  相似文献

In this paper we formulate a continuous-time mean–variance portfolio selection model with multiple risky assets and one liability in an incomplete market. The risky assets’ prices are governed by geometric Brownian motions while the liability evolves according to a Brownian motion with drift. The correlations between the risky assets and the liability are considered. The objective is to maximize the expected terminal wealth while minimizing the variance of the terminal wealth. We derive explicitly the optimal dynamic strategy and the mean–variance efficient frontier in closed forms by using the general stochastic linear-quadratic (LQ) control technique. Several special cases are discussed and a numerical example is also given.  相似文献

Machine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of rotating machinery are very important because of the wide use of rotating machinery in industry. Couplings and gears are used in many mechanical systems to connect elements and transmit power. The system is usually modeled as a single-degree-of-freedom system with a piecewise linear spring property, where the mass of main machine is only considered. In the present study, the dynamic behavior of a system with an unsymmetrical nonlinearity and a significant mass of the connecting part was investigated both experimentally and by numerical simulation. In the experiment, a 1/3 sub-harmonic oscillation was observed, but this oscillation was not found in the simulation using a single-degree-of-freedom system, in which the mass of the connecting part was ignored. However, when a two-degrees-of-freedom system was used that considered both the mass of the connecting part and the impact property, the 1/3 sub-harmonic oscillation was observed. Thus it is recognized that an adequate mathematical model for diagnosis in the early stage of abnormality must be selected on the basis of the mass ratio between the connecting part and the main body.  相似文献

A statistical approach was applied to describe the model of a homogeneous microporous adsorbent and obtain the dependences of the thermodynamic functions on the number of molecules and the temperature for molecular aggregates in discrete micropores over a wide region of fillings that lead to the Dubinin—Radushkevich equation. The energy nonuniformity of the adsorption space is the fundamental property of carbon adsorbents. In the region of small fillings, the statistical approach leads to Henry's law and the finite value of the initial differential energy of adsorption. The value of sorption corresponding to the saturated vapor pressure decreases with increasing temperature, but the decrease is considerably less than for the density of the corresponding liquid. This communication brings forward the concept of an effective drag for circular cylinders undergoing controlled or self-excited oscillation transverse to a free stream. A relationship between the effective drag and the apparent drag customarily measured by force transducers, is derived on the basis of the average rate of energy dissipation in the fluid. The effective drag is employed to gain insight into the fluid dynamics of vortex-induced vibrations using available data from the published literature. It is shown that the effective drag varies almost continuously as a function of the true reduced velocity except for a sudden decrease near conditions of maximum amplitude. The variation displays similarities but also important differences among independent experiments, which highlight the importance of various influencing parameters whose effect on the free response is currently not well understood. Some evidence is found that self-excited oscillations occur at points in the frequency–amplitude space where the effective drag is comparatively low avoiding the region where energy transfer from the fluid to the structure is most efficient. A total energy balance is employed to reveal the effect of mechanical damping on the free response which indicates that the amplitude scales with the inverse of the square root of damping in conformity with experimental data. The dimensionless damping parameters proposed by Vandiver are examined in light of the present analysis, and alternative empirical formulas are suggested for organizing the free vibration response.  相似文献

This review is a critical overview of the literature on electrochemistry of unsaturated ring-compounds containing bonds between Group 15 and Group 16 elements (principally S and N), including metallacycles. It contains a detailed compilation of measured redox potentials and the conditions under which these were obtained for over 200 compounds. An introduction to the application of solution electrochemistry to this class of compounds is provided, and the relevance of such measurements to materials design is discussed.  相似文献
