We study the interior and exterior contact problems for hemitropic elastic solids. We treat the cases when the friction effects, described by Tresca friction (given friction model), are taken into consideration either on some part of the boundary of the body or on the whole boundary. We equivalently reduce these problems to a boundary variational inequality with the help of the Steklov–Poincaré type operator. Based on our boundary variational inequality approach we prove existence and uniqueness theorems for weak solutions. We prove that the solutions continuously depend on the data of the original problem and on the friction coefficient. For the interior problem, necessary and sufficient conditions of solvability are established when friction is taken into consideration on the whole boundary.  相似文献

Here we derive very general multivariate tight integral inequalities of Chebyshev–Grüss, Ostrowski types and of comparison of integral means. These are based on well-known Sobolev integral representation of a function. Our inequalities engage ordinary and weak partial derivatives of the involved functions. We also give their applications. On the way to prove our main results we derive important estimates for the averaged Taylor polynomials and remainders of Sobolev integral representations. Our results expand to all possible directions.  相似文献

A Robin type boundary condition with a sign-changing coefficient is treated. First, the associated linear elliptic eigenvalue problem is studied, where the existence of a principal eigenvalue is discussed by the use of a variational approach. Second, the associated semilinear elliptic boundary value problem of logistic type is studied and the one parameter-dependent structure of positive solutions is investigated, where results obtained are due to the construction of suitable super- and subsolutions by using the principal positive eigenfunctions of the linear eigenvalue problem.  相似文献

This article is concerned with a boundary-field equation approach to a class of boundary value problems exterior to a thin domain. A prototype of this kind of problems is the interaction problem with a thin elastic structure. We are interested in the asymptotic behavior of the solution when the thickness of the elastic structure approaches to zero. In particular, formal asymptotic expansions will be developed, and their rigorous justification will be considered. As will be seen, the construction of these formal expansions hinges on the solutions of a sequence of exterior Dirichlet problems, which can be treated by employing boundary element methods. On the other hand, the justification of the corresponding formal procedure requires an independence on the thickness of the thin domain for the constant in the Korn inequality. It is shown that in spite of the reduction of the dimensionality of the domain under consideration, this class of problems are, in general, not singular perturbation problems, because of appropriate interface conditions.  相似文献

We consider a quasistatic frictional contact problem between a piezoelectric body and a foundation. The contact is modeled with normal compliance and friction is modeled with a general version of Coulomb's law of dry friction; the process is quasistatic and the material's behavior is described by an electro-viscoelastic constitutive law with damage. We derive a variational formulation for the model which is in the form of a system involving the displacement field, the electric potential field, and the damage field. Then we provide the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on arguments of evolutionary variational inequalities and fixed point.  相似文献

The Cushing–Henson conjectures on time scales are presented and verified. The central part of these conjectures asserts that based on a model using the dynamic Beverton–Holt equation, a periodic environment is deleterious for the population. The proof technique is as follows. First, the Beverton–Holt equation is identified as a logistic dynamic equation. The usual substitution transforms this equation into a linear equation. Then the proof is completed using a recently established dynamic version of the generalized Jensen inequality.  相似文献
