We present an improved immersed boundary method for simulating incompressible viscous flow around an arbitrarily moving body on a fixed computational grid. To achieve a large Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy number and to transfer quantities between Eulerian and Lagrangian domains effectively, we combined the feedback forcing scheme of the virtual boundary method with Peskin's regularized delta function approach. Stability analysis of the proposed method was carried out for various types of regularized delta functions. The stability regime of the 4‐point regularized delta function was much wider than that of the 2‐point delta function. An optimum regime of the feedback forcing is suggested on the basis of the analysis of stability limits and feedback forcing gains. The proposed method was implemented in a finite‐difference and fractional‐step context. The proposed method was tested on several flow problems, including the flow past a stationary cylinder, inline oscillation of a cylinder in a quiescent fluid, and transverse oscillation of a circular cylinder in a free‐stream. In this paper, we address the development of a global optimization procedure for the problem of designing a water distribution network, including the case of expanding an already existing system, that satisfies specified flow demands at stated pressure head requirements. The proposed approach significantly improves upon a previous method of Sherali et al. (1998) by way of adopting tighter polyhedral relaxations, and more effective partitioning strategies in concert with a maximal spanning tree-based branching variable selection procedure. Computational experience on three standard test problems from the literature is provided to evaluate the proposed procedure. For all these problems, proven global optimal solutions within a tolerance of 10–4% and/or within 1$ of optimality are obtained. In particular, the two larger instances of the Hanoi and the New York test networks are solved to global optimality for the very first time in the literature. A new real network design test problem based on the Town of Blacksburg Water Distribution System is also offered to be included in the available library of test cases, and related computational results are presented.  相似文献

It is proved that every subspace of James Tree space (JT) with non-separable dual contains an isomorph of James Tree complemented in JT. This yields that every complemented subspace of JT with non-separable dual is isomorphic to JT. A new JT like space denoted as TF is defined. It is shown that every subspace of James Function space (JF) with non-separable dual contains an isomorph of TF. The later yields that every subspace of JF with non-separable dual contains isomorphs of c0 and ?p for 2?p<∞. The analogues of the above results for bounded linear operators are also proved.  相似文献

We developed a new radiation parameterization of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), using the correlated k-distribution method and the high-resolution transmission molecular absorption (HITRAN) 2004 database. We examined the instantaneous and stratospheric adjusted radiative efficiencies of HFCs for clear-sky and all-sky conditions. We also calculated the radiative forcing of HFCs from preindustrial times to the present and for future scenarios given by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES, in short). Global warming potential and global temperature potential were then examined and compared on the basis of the calculated radiative efficiencies. Finally, we discuss surface temperature changes due to various HFC emissions.  相似文献

This study proposes a new forcing scheme suitable for massively-parallel finite-difference simulations of stationary isotropic turbulence. The proposed forcing scheme, named reduced-communication forcing (RCF), is based on the same idea as the conventional large-scale forcing scheme, but requires much less data communication, leading to a high parallel efficiency. It has been confirmed that the RCF scheme works intrinsically in the same manner as the conventional large-scale forcing scheme. Comparisons have revealed that a fourth-order finite-difference model run in combination with the RCF scheme (FDM-RCF) is as good as a spectral model, while requiring less computational costs. For the range 80 < Reλ < 540, where Reλ is the Taylor microscale-based Reynolds number, large computations using the FDM-RCF scheme show that the Reynolds dependences of skewness and flatness factors have similar power-laws as found in previous studies.  相似文献

We continue [21] and study partition numbers of partial orderings which are related to (ω)/fin. In particular, we investigate Pf, be the suborder of ((ω)/fin)ω containing only filtered elements, the Mathias partial order M, and (ω), (ω)ω the lattice of (infinite) partitions of ω, respectively. We show that Solomon's inequality holds for M and that it consistently fails for Pf. We show that the partition number of (ω) is C. We also show that consistently the distributivity number of (ω)ω is smaller than the distributivity number of (ω)/fin. We also investigate partitions of a Polish space into closed sets. We show that such a partition either is countable or has size at least D, where D is the dominating number. We also show that the existence of a dominating family of size 1 does not imply that a Polish space can be partitioned into 1 many closed sets.  相似文献

研究以树G为通道结构的秘密共享体制的最优信息率ρ(G)。得到了ρ(G)=2/3的要条件。证明了ρ(G)不会介于实数区间(3/5,2/3)中,给出了以树G的阶数表示的ρ(G)的下界,求出两类具有某种结构的树的最优信息率。  相似文献
