In this paper, sufficient criteria are established for the existence of periodic solutions of some functional dynamic equations with infinite delays on time scales, which generalize and incorporate as special cases many known results for differential equations and for difference equations when the time scale is the set of the real numbers or the integers, respectively. The approach is mainly based on the Krasnosel’ski? fixed point theorem, which has been extensively applied in studying existence problems in differential equations and difference equations but rarely applied in studying dynamic equations on time scales. This study shows that one can unify such existence studies in the sense of dynamic equations on general time scales.  相似文献

This paper investigates the interaction effect of horizontal fast harmonic parametric excitation and time delay on self-excited vibration in van der Pol oscillator. We apply the method of direct partition of motion to derive the main autonomous equation governing the slow dynamic of the oscillator. The method of averaging is then performed on the slow dynamic to obtain a slow flow which is analyzed for equilibria and periodic motion. This analysis provides analytical approximations of regions in parameter space where periodic self-excited vibrations can be eliminated. A numerical study is performed on the original oscillator and compared to analytical approximations. It was shown that in the delayed case, horizontal fast harmonic excitation can eliminate undesirable self-excited vibrations for moderate values of the excitation frequency. In contrast, the case without delay requires large excitation frequency to eliminate such motions. This work has application to regenerative behavior in high-speed milling.  相似文献

Digital filters, frequently used in active control of mechanical systems, enable one to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and the control performance, but introduce group delays into the control loops simultaneously. In order to gain an insight into the effects of a digital filter on a controlled mechanical system, this paper presents the stability switches and the corresponding Hopf bifurcations of a double pendulum system with the linear quadratic control having a digital filter via theoretical analysis, numerical simulations and experiments. In this study, the digital filters are used to remove the undesired noise of high frequency, which is embedded in the control signal, and are modeled as the components of pure time delay during the theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. The study shows that a digital filter with moderate specifications can not only improve the vibration reduction effectively, but also save the energy consumption of the servo-motor remarkably. However, over demanding specifications will make the group delay of the filter exceed a critical value and cause either a divergent motion or a self-excited vibration through a Hopf bifurcation, the occurrence of which depends on both the stability and the size of the basin of attraction of the bifurcating periodic motion. The experimental results well coincide with the theoretical and numerical ones, and strongly support the simplification of the digital filters as the components of pure time delay. Finally, some suggestions are made to avoid the group delay induced instability.  相似文献

In this article we introduce the vehicle routing problem with coupled time windows (VRPCTW), which is an extension of the vehicle routing problem with time windows (VRPTW), where additional coupling constraints on the time windows are imposed. VRPCTW is applied to model a real-world planning problem concerning the integrated optimization of school starting times and public bus services. A mixed-integer programming formulation for the VRPCTW within this context is given. It is solved using a new meta-heuristic that combines classical construction aspects with mixed-integer preprocessing techniques, and improving hit-and-run, a randomized search strategy from global optimization. Solutions for several randomly generated and real-world instances are presented.  相似文献

The principal aim of this paper is to state and prove some Lyapunov inequalities for linear Hamiltonian system on an arbitrary time scale , so that the well-known case of differential linear Hamiltonian systems and the recently developed case of discrete Hamiltonian systems are unified. Applying these inequalities, a disconjugacy criterion for Hamiltonian systems on time scales is obtained.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior of the time delay (defined as the trace of the Eisenbud-Wigner time delay operator) for scattering by potential and by magnetic field with two compact supports as the separation of supports goes to infinity. The emphasis is placed on analyzing how different the asymptotic formulae are in potential and magnetic scattering. The difference is proper to scattering in two dimensions.  相似文献

Based on the Nyström approximation and the primal-dual formulation of the least squares support vector machines, it becomes possible to apply a nonlinear model to a large scale regression problem. This is done by using a sparse approximation of the nonlinear mapping induced by the kernel matrix, with an active selection of support vectors based on quadratic Renyi entropy criteria. The methodology is applied to the case of load forecasting as an example of a real-life large scale problem in industry. The forecasting performance, over ten different load series, shows satisfactory results when the sparse representation is built with less than 3% of the available sample.  相似文献

Much of the existing stage-structured consumer–resource models ignore the permanence. In this paper, we consider the permanence for a series of staged-structured consumer–resource models with the function response of so-called “prey-dependence”(resource-dependence) type. We show that the systems are permanent, if and only if the adult consumer's recruitment rate at the peak of resource abundance is more than its death rate. Our results indicate that the large consumer's maturation time delay will directly lead to its extinction. Furthermore, our arguments for the main results give a light for permanence in the general stage-structured consumer–resource systems.  相似文献

We study a time relaxation regularization of flow problems proposed and tested extensively by Stolz and Adams. The aim of the relaxation term is to drive the unresolved fluctuations in a computational simulation to zero exponentially fast by an appropriate and often problem dependent choice of its coefficient; this relaxation term is thus intermediate between a tunable numerical stabilization and a continuum modeling term. Our aim herein is to understand how this term, by itself, acts to truncate solution scales and to use this understanding to give insight into parameter selection.  相似文献
