Thermodynamic and spectroscopic properties of 2-pyrrolidinones. 2. Dielectric properties of 2-pyrrolidinone in binary mixtures

Dielectric permittivities of 2-pyrrolidinone - acetone, -dimethyl sulfoxide,-2-propanol, -dichloromethane and -water systems were measured as a function of mole fraction over the whole composition range at 30 and 50°C. The excess dielectric permittivities are predominantly negative for all the mixtures and the excess molar polarizations are negative except for 2-pyrrolidinone - water and 2-pyrrolidinone - dimethyl sulfoxide mixtures. The large negative excess quantities are indicative of the strong specific interactions between the like and unlike components of the solution mixtures.     

Molecular interactions in 1-pentanol +2-methyl-2-butanol mixtures: Static dielectric constant,viscosity and refractive index investigations at 5, 25 and 45°C

Static dielectric constants, refractive indices and viscosities of 1-pentanol +2-methyl-2-butanol mixtures were measured at 5, 25 and 45°C. The results show that the mixing of the two isomers modifies the polarizability and the resistence of viscous flow of the system depending on the composition and temperature. Short range intermolecular interactions producing hetero-alcohol open dimers are considered.     

薄层色谱法在香兰素合成中的应用

应用薄层色谱法对愈创木酚、3－甲氧基－4－羟基扁桃酸和香兰素进行了分析，以硅胶GF254作为吸附剂，从几种溶剂系统中选出氯仿：乙酸乙酯：正丙醇：冰乙酸：水＝20：1：1：1：2溶液作为展开剂。建立了 香兰素的薄层扫描定量分析方法，测定波长为500nm，参比波长为570nm，线性范围为0．31－6．2μg。     

Synthesis of inorganic-organic hybrids by incorporation of inorganic components into organic polymer using metal alkoxides

Inorganic-organic hybrids have been synthesized by incorporation of the inorganic component of Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ into the organic polymer of ethyl cellulose. The inorganic-organic hybrids did not dissolve in toluene used as a solvent for the starting materials. The ethanol was formed as a by-product of the alcoholysis condensation reaction between Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ and ethyl cellulose. These results suggest that ethoxy groups of Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ react with hydroxy groups of ethyl cellulose to form cross-linking bonds of –O–Ti–O–. The reaction of Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ with ethyl cellulose was further investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The FT-IR spectroscopic experiments revealed that the Ti–O bond state of Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ was changed by refluxing a toluene solution of Ti(OC₂H₅)₄ with ethyl cellulose. The inorganic-organic hybrids have an interesting dielectric property; their dielectric constant is higher than that of ethyl cellulose and that of a simple mixture of TiO₂ and ethyl cellulose.     

Zr（Y）O2衬底上大面积YBCO薄膜表面组织状态的研究

使用配备有ＥＤＳ和ＥＣＰ附件的ＳＥＭ、ＡＥＭ、和ＳＴＭ研究在７５０和８００℃的Ｚｒ（Ｙ）Ｏ２衬底上磁控溅射沉积的大面积ＹＢＣＯ超导薄膜的表面组织。ＹＢＣＯ薄膜为ｃ轴取向单晶，但衬底温度为８００℃时，膜表面的突出组织多为ＣｕＯ颗粒，小坑较多，表面粗糙；衬底温度为７５０℃时，突出组织多为棒状和多边形１２３结构，很少小坑，表面较平整。     

Studies on the Phase Properties of Winsor Ⅰ-Ⅲ Type Microemulsions with Dielectric Relaxation Spectroscopy

The dielectric relaxation spectroscopy （DRS） of Winsor I -Ⅲ microemulsions for nonionic surfactant octyl polyglucoside CsG1.46/1-butanol/cyclohexanedwater system was studied. The experiment shows that the permittivity decreases with the increase in the frequency and clear dielectric relaxation phenomena were observed. Permittivity obviously decreases with the change of the microstructure of the microemulsion, W/O, B.C. and O/W can be distinguished by the permittivity.     

Clathrate formation and phase transitions in β-hydroquinone

Clathrate thermodynamic stability conditions and the phase transitions associated with either the orientational ordering of the guest molecules or with the condensation of the guest molecules in the host lattice are investigated by means of the common microscopic model. The theory proposed describes the thermodynamic properties of -hydroquinone (Q ) clathrates. The dielectric constant (T) was measured experimentally inQ ·CH₃OH andQ ·SO₂ in the temperature range from 4.2 to 300 K and the phase transitions were found. It is shown that the theory qualitatively explains the experimental data obtained.Dedicated to Professor H. M. Powell.     

Implementation of the finite field perturbation method in the CRYSTAL program for calculating the dielectric constant of periodic systems

The finite field approach has been implemented in the periodic ab initio CRYSTAL program and been used for calculating the dielectric constants of crystalline LiF and MgO (FCC structure) and BeO (wurtzite structure). To maintain the periodicity along the applied field direction, a "sawtooth" potential is used in conjunction with a supercell scheme. Supercells four to five times longer than the primitive cell in the direction of the applied field provide well-converged results. The influence of the computational parameters is discussed. An alternative scheme has also been implemented, for inner check, that consists of applying a static electric field to a slab of increasing thickness in the direction orthogonal to the surface; the dielectric response at the center of the slab is shown to converge rapidly to the bulk value evaluated with the sawtooth field. The method is accurate and permits the determination of nonlinear corrections to the dielectric constant. When used in conjunction with the local density approximation (LDA) scheme, it provides for the dielectric constant of the three above-mentioned compounds values close to those recently obtained with a time-dependent density functional theory approach.     

Dielectric behaviour of a side-chain-bearing liquid-crystalline polysiloxane

The relaxation of electric field-induced polar orientation in a side-chain-bearing liquid-crystalline polysiloxane was measured by means of thermally stimulated depolarization currents. Different relaxation mechanisms were identified and characterized: the glass transition cooperative relaxation exhibits compensation behaviour. On the other hand, lowerT _g and upperT _g discharges were observed and their molecular nature is discussed.     

The pockels coefficient of new polymers for nonlinear optics and its time dependence after poling,compared with dielectric measurements

Epoxy polymers with donor–acceptor type side groups were synthesized for application in nonlinear optics. The stability of the Pockels coefficient was measured in thin films after poling. The relaxation times and their temperature dependence seem to be correlated with dielectric measurements. Guest–host systems (polystyrene and polymethylmethacrylate with dimethylaminonitrostilbene) were investigated for comparison.
