On the trace problem for Lizorkin–Triebel spaces with mixed norms

The subject is traces of Sobolev spaces with mixed Lebesgue norms on Euclidean space. Specifically, restrictions to the hyperplanes given by x₁ = 0 and x_n = 0 are applied to functions belonging to quasi‐homogeneous, mixed norm Lizorkin–Triebel spaces ; Sobolev spaces are obtained from these as special cases. Spaces admitting traces in the distribution sense are characterised up to the borderline cases; these are also covered in case x₁ = 0. For x₁ the trace spaces are proved to be mixed‐norm Lizorkin–Triebel spaces with a specific sum exponent; for x_n they are similarly defined Besov spaces. The treatment includes continuous right‐inverses and higher order traces. The results rely on a sequence version of Nikol'skij's inequality, Marschall's inequality for pseudodifferential operators (and Fourier multiplier assertions), as well as dyadic ball criteria. Mild solutions of non-autonomous second order problems with nonlocal initial conditions

In this paper we establish the existence of mild solutions for a non-autonomous abstract semi-linear second order differential equation submitted to nonlocal initial conditions. Our approach relies on the existence of an evolution operator for the corresponding linear equation and the properties of the Hausdorff measure of non-compactness.     

The Schauder fixed point theorem in geodesic spaces

We give a direct proof of Schauder's fixed point theorem in the setting of geodesic metric spaces, generalizing the classical Schauder's theorem and improving a recent version of this theorem in CAT(κ)$\mathrm{CAT}(\kappa )$ spaces. As an application we prove an existence result for a variational inequality in the setting of CAT(κ)$\mathrm{CAT}(\kappa )$ spaces.     

A new Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality from the viewpoint of the real interpolation functors

The Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality describes a subtle embedding property into . The relation between the Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality and the real interpolation functor together with the sharpness of the results is discussed in the present paper. As our first main results shows, it turns out that there are two intermediate terms between and the logarithmic boundedness, which is supposed to be the right‐hand side of the Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality. As the second result, the first result is extended to inequalities which reflect the meaning of the second index of Besov spaces and the interpolation theorem.     

The Dirichlet problem for non‐divergence parabolic equations with discontinuous in time coefficients in a wedge

We consider the Dirichlet problem in a wedge for parabolic equation whose coefficients are measurable function of t. We obtain coercive estimates in weighted ‐spaces. The concept of “critical exponent” introduced in the paper plays here the crucial role. Various important properties of the critical exponent are proved. We give applications to the Dirichlet problem for linear and quasi‐linear non‐divergence parabolic equations with discontinuous in time coefficients in cylinders , where Ω is a bounded domain with an edge or with a conical point.     

Analytic moduli spaces of simple sheaves on families of integral curves

We prove the existence of fine moduli spaces of simple coherent sheaves on families of irreducible curves. Our proof is based on the existence of a universal upper bound of the Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity of such sheaves, which we provide.     

Hyponormality of bounded‐type Toeplitz operators

In this paper we deal with the hyponormality of Toeplitz operators with matrix‐valued symbols. The aim of this paper is to provide a tractable criterion for the hyponormality of bounded‐type Toeplitz operators (i.e., the symbol is a matrix‐valued function such that Φ and are of bounded type). In particular, we get a much simpler criterion for the hyponormality of when the co‐analytic part of the symbol Φ is a left divisor of the analytic part.     

Measures of noncompactness and essential pseudospectra on Banach space

In this research article, we work with the notion of the measures of noncompactness in order to establish some results concerning the essential pseudospectra of closed, densely defined linear operators in the Banach space. We start by giving a refinement of the definition of the essential pseudospectra by means of the measure of noncompactness, and we give sufficient conditions on the perturbed operator to have its invariance. Generalization of tangential trace spaces of H(curl,Ω) for curvilinear Lipschitz polyhedral domains Ω

For curvilinear Lipschitz polyhedral domains Ω, explicit characterizations of the tangential trace spaces of H ¹(Ω) are presented. These extend the original characterizations given by Buffa and Ciarlet that hold on Lipschitz polyhedral domains with plane faces. The tangential trace spaces of H ¹(Ω) are fundamental for the definition, analysis and intuitive understanding of the trace spaces of H ( curl ,Ω) and therefore, more general characterizations of the latter are obtained at the same time.
