Trigonometric wavelets for Hermite interpolation

The aim of this paper is to investigate a multiresolution analysis of nested subspaces of trigonometric polynomials. The pair of scaling functions which span the sample spaces are fundamental functions for Hermite interpolation on a dyadic partition of nodes on the interval . Two wavelet functions that generate the corresponding orthogonal complementary subspaces are constructed so as to possess the same fundamental interpolatory properties as the scaling functions. Together with the corresponding dual functions, these interpolatory properties of the scaling functions and wavelets are used to formulate the specific decomposition and reconstruction sequences. Consequently, this trigonometric multiresolution analysis allows a completely explicit algorithmic treatment.

     

On the Applications of the Linear Recurrence Relationships to Pseudoprimes

We present here some results on the applications of linear recursive sequences of order $2$ to the Fermat pseudoprimes, Fibonacci pseudoprimes, and Dickson pseudoprimes.     

Remark on the well-posedness of the problem of minimization of integral functionals

In this note, we study the well-posedness of the problem of constrained minimization of an integral functional and show that global well-posedness is equivalent to pointwise well-posedness almost everywhere. Our result extends an earlier one by Zolezzi.This research was supported by NSF Grant No. DMS 88-02688.

Low dimensional chaos in the AT and GC skew profiles of DNA sequences

This paper investigates the existence of low-dimensional deterministic chaos in the AT and GC skew profiles of DNA sequences. It has taken DNA sequences from eight organisms as samples. The skew profiles are analysed using continuous wavelet transform and then nonlinear time series methods. The invariant measures of correlation dimension and the largest Lyapunov exponent are calculated. It is demonstrated that the AT and GC skew profiles of these DNA sequences all exhibit low dimensional chaotic behaviour. It suggests that chaotic properties may be ubiquitous in the DNA sequences of all organisms.

一类抽象算子方程组的迭代解及其应用

在Banach空间中, 利用半序方法讨论了一类抽象算子方程组解的存在唯一性, 推广和统一了以前的一些结果. 然后应用到 Banach 空间非线性积分方程组, 得到了方程组的唯一解, 构造了收敛于方程组唯一解的迭代序列并给出了相应的误差估计.     

Carleson Measures for the Bloch Space

In this paper we study the positive Borel measures μ on the unit disc in for which the Bloch space is continuously included in , 0 < p < ∞. We call such measures p-Bloch-Carleson measures. We give two conditions on a measure μ in terms of certain logarithmic integrals one of which is a necessary condition and the other a sufficient condition for μ being a p-Bloch-Carleson measure. We also give a complete characterization of the p-Bloch-Carleson measures within certain special classes of measures. It is also shown that, for p > 1, the p-Bloch-Carleson measures are exactly those for which the Toeplitz operator , defined by , maps continuously into the Bergman space A ¹, . Furthermore, we prove that if p > 1, α >-1 and ω is a weight which satisfies the Bekollé-Bonami -condition, then the measure defined by is a p-Bloch-Carleson-measure. We also consider the Banach space of those functions f which are analytic in and satisfy , as . The Bloch space is contained in . We describe the p-Carleson measures for and study weighted composition operators and a class of integration operators acting in this space. We determine which of these operators map continuously to the weighted Bergman space and show that they are automatically compact.
