We prove a finitary version of the Halpern–Läuchli Theorem. We also prove partition results about strong subtrees. Both results give estimates on the height of trees.     

Strong convergence theorems for strongly nonexpansive sequences

The aim of this paper is to prove a strong convergence theorem for a pair of sequences of nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space, where one of them is a strongly nonexpansive sequence, and provide some applications of the theorem.     

Construction of Iterative Methods for Variational Inequality and Fixed Point Problems

In this article, we first introduce two iterative methods for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse strongly monotone mapping in a Hilbert space. Then we show that the proposed iterative methods converge strongly to a minimum norm element of two sets.     

On the use of the Borel–Cantelli lemma in Markov chains

In the present paper, we propose technical generalizations of the Borel–Cantelli lemma. These generalizations can be further used to derive strong limit results for Markov chains. In our work, we obtain some strong limit results.     

Weak convergence to the fractional Brownian sheet using martingale differences

We establish an invariance principle for the fractional Brownian sheet, starting from discrete random fields constructed from two-parameter strong martingales. This is an approximation in law of the fractional Brownian sheet in Skorohord space in the plane.     

A general central limit theorem for strong mixing sequences

A central limit theorem for strong mixing sequences is given that applies to both non-stationary sequences and triangular array settings. The result improves on an earlier central limit theorem for this type of dependence given by Politis, Romano and Wolf in 1997.     

On the construction and Malliavin differentiability of solutions of Lévy noise driven SDE's with singular coefficients

In this paper we introduce a new technique to construct unique strong solutions of SDE's with singular coefficients driven by certain Lévy processes. Our method which is based on Malliavin calculus does not rely on a pathwise uniqueness argument. Furthermore, the approach, which provides a direct construction principle, grants the additional insight that the obtained solutions are Malliavin differentiable.     

The invariance principle for fractionally integrated processes with strong near-epoch dependent innovations

In this paper, we show the invariance principle for the partial sum processes of fractionally integrated processes, otherwise known as I(d + m) processes, where |d| < 1/2 and m is a nonnegative integer, with strong near-epoch dependent innovations. The results are applied to the test of unit root. The conditions given improve previous results in the literature concerning fractionally integrated processes.     

Unique continuation for positive solutions of degenerate elliptic equations

We establish the strong unique continuation property for positive weak solutions to degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations. The degeneracy is given by a suitable power of a strong A_∞ weight (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
