Optical transmission gratings by one driven three-level atom and a microtoroidal resonator

Based on the strong coherent interaction between a three-level ladder-type atom and a fiber-taper-coupled microtoroidal resonator, we present a scheme for optical transmission gratings. Using experimentally accessible parameters, it is shown that alternating regions of high transmission and absorption can be created in the fiber-taper channel by spatially modulating an external coupling field. The model shows an obvious effect which has a direct analogy with the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced grating (EIG) in quantum systems.

本文采用数值计算方法研究了强场作用下二能级原子双光子过程中辐射场的压缩效应.结果表明:辐射场主要处于压缩态,并周期性地出现短时的非压缩效应,随着值的不断增大,场与原子的非线性耦合越来越强,压缩的最大深度不断加深.

Existence and uniqueness of maximal strong solution of a 1D blood flow in a network of vessels

We study the well-posedness of a system of one-dimensional partial differential equations modeling blood flows in a network of vessels with viscoelastic walls. We prove the existence and uniqueness of maximal strong solution for this type of hyperbolic/parabolic model. We also prove a stability estimate under suitable nonlinear Robin boundary conditions.     

New smooth C-functions for symmetric cone complementarity problems

In this paper, with the help of the Jordan-algebraic technique we introduce two new complementarity functions (C-functions) for symmetric cone complementary problems, and show that they are continuously differentiable and strongly semismooth everywhere.
