Maximal tubes under the deformations of 3-dimensional hyperbolic cone-manifolds

Hodgson and Kerckhoff found a small bound on Dehn surgered 3-manifolds from hyperbolic knots not admitting hyperbolic structures using deformations of hyperbolic cone-manifolds. They asked whether the area normalized meridian length squared of maximal tubular neighborhoods of the singular locus of the cone-manifold is decreasing and that summed with the cone-angle squared is increasing as we deform the cone-angles. We confirm this near 0 cone-angles for an infinite family of hyperbolic cone-manifolds obtained by Dehn surgeries along the Whitehead link complements. The basic method rests on explicit holonomy computations using the A-polynomials and finding the maximal tubes. One of the key tools is the Taylor expansion of a geometric component of the zero set of the A-polynomial in terms of the cone-angles. We also show that a sequence of Taylor expansions for Dehn surgered manifolds converges to 1 for the limit hyperbolic manifold.     

The Idempotent Manifold in a Clifford Algebra

The idempotent sets in sufficiently sophisticated algebras form manifolds and Hausdorff spaces. In this paper it is shown how the idempotents in a real Clifford algebra Cl_p,q can be calculated by nilpotents and reflections. Minimal sets of nilpotents are given and generating relations are defined. It is shown that the manifold thus constructed is complete. Every idempotent in the manifold can be calculated in the way proposed here, namely by a nilpotent multinomial form.     

Connections on Complex Finsler Manifold

We introduce Finsler metric on complex manifold and discuss connections induced by this metric.     

Integrability conditions for a certain class of nonlinear evolution equations and Kähler geometry

Multicomponent evolution equations associated with linear connections on complex manifolds are considered. It is proved that under some general assumptions an equation from this class is integrable by inverse scattering method if the corresponding linear connection is the Levi-Civita connection of an indefinite Kählerian metric of constant holomorphic sectional curvature. This result is based on a certain characterization of the above-mentioned Levi-Civita connections. It is shown that the obtained integrable equations are generalized ferromagnetics, and recurrent formulas for their local conservation laws are given.     

Focker-Planck equation on a manifold. Effective diffusion and spectrum

The main objectives of the present paper are: (i) to construct a proper generalization of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process for the case of a smooth Riemannian manifold (also under the action of an external potential field); (ii) to prove a Central Limit Theorem for a certain class of additive functionals, making use of the estimations how fast the process converges to equilibrium; (iii) to investigate spectral properties of the corresponding generator; and (iv) to discuss some geometrical aspects of averaging for this process.

Equidistribution for meromorphic transforms and the dd~c-method

In this paper we give an introduction to the notion of meromorphic transform. We describe some equidistribution problems and their solution, using the ddc-method. In particular, we give some statistical properties of the equilibrium measure for meromorphic maps on compact Kahler manifolds: K-mixing, exponential decay of correlations and central limit theorem.

Mean Curvature Flow with Dirichlet Boundary Conditions in Riemannian Manifolds with Symmetries
