On G 2 Continuous Spline Interpolation of Curves in ℝ d

In this paper the problem of G ² continuous interpolation of curves in ^d by polynomial splines of degree n is studied. The interpolation of the data points and two tangent directions at the boundary is considered. The case n = r + 2 = d, where r is the number of interior points interpolated by each segment of the spline curve, is studied in detail. It is shown that the problem is uniquely solvable asymptotically, e., when the data points are sampled regularly and sufficiently dense, and lie on a regular, convex parametric curve in ^d . In this case the optimal approximation order is also determined.     

Hardy spaces of spaces of homogeneous type

Let be a space of homogeneous type, and be the generator of a semigroup with Gaussian kernel bounds on . We define the Hardy spaces of for a range of , by means of area integral function associated with the Poisson semigroup of , which is proved to coincide with the usual atomic Hardy spaces on spaces of homogeneous type.

     

Commutators of fractional integral operators on Vanishing-Morrey spaces

In this note we prove a sufficient condition for commutators of fractional integral operators to belong to Vanishing Morrey spaces VL ^p,λ. In doing this we use an extension on Morrey spaces of an inequality by Fefferman and Stein concerning the sharp maximal function and the fractional maximal function and related Morrey inequalities.      

Embedding with a Lipschitz function

We investigate a new notion of embedding of subsets of {?1,1}ⁿ in a given normed space, in a way which preserves the structure of the given set as a class of functions on {1, …, n}. This notion is an extension of the margin parameter often used in Nonparametric Statistics. Our main result is that even when considering “small” subsets of {?1, 1}ⁿ, the vast majority of such sets do not embed in a better way than the entire cube in any normed space that satisfies a minor structural assumption. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Muckenhoupt weights with singularities on closed lower dimensional sets in spaces of homogeneous type

We give sufficient conditions on a real number β and on a closed set F   in a general space of homogeneous type (X,d,μ)$(X,d,\mu )$ in such a way that μ(B(x,d(x,F)))^β$\mu {(B(x,d(x,F)))}^{\beta }$ becomes a Muckenhoupt weight. In order to prove our result, we modify the underlying space so that it becomes 1-Ahlfors regular.

本文用样条边界元法分析轴对称圆形基础板的非线性非光滑接触。除事先给出外力与地基表面位移的对应关系外,地基的模型、板的厚薄(Reissner/Kirchhoff型)和外荷载沿径向的分布均可是任意的。文中将地基反力看作板的外载,对变量沿径向采用不等距祥条插值,并用无地基效应的板基本解。算例表明本文方法只要用少量自由度,便可得到令人满意的结果。     

Radially symmetric weighted extended b-spline model

In this paper, the weighted extended basis splines approach in the finite element method is applied to the electrostatic, electromagnetic wave and bioheat problems for inhomogeneous boundary conditions and radially symmetric structures. This new method, which does not need mesh generation, overcomes some of the drawbacks of using meshes and piecewise-uniform or linear trial functions. Two-dimensional radially symmetric electrostatic and electromagnetic wave equations are evaluated. We also attempt to propose a three-dimensional radially symmetric unexposed human eye model for simulating changes in corneal temperature using these new finite elements in conjunction with linear, quadratic and cubic b-splines. Our findings indicate that weighted extended basis spline solutions improve the standard finite element method. The simulation results which are verified using the values reported in the literature, point out to better efficiency in terms of the accuracy level.
