Regularity and Rigidity for Nonlocal Curvatures in Conformal Geometry

In this paper, we will explore the geometric effects of conformally covariant operators and the induced nonlinear curvature equations in certain nonlocal nature. Mainly, we will prove some regularity and rigidity results for the distributional solutions to those equations.     

An approach to characterization of the agricultural self-propelled machines stability

This paper presents an analytical algorithm with appropriate software specified for the approximation of the allowed critical slope of the solid flat terrain that guarantees static and/or dynamic stability of the specified self-propelled agricultural machines and their aggregates. This algorithm assumes machine as a rigid body, having 3 or 4 contact points (defined by wheels or crawlers), under uniform motion at different constant velocities and radii of curvature trajectories. Using this algorithm, based on the principles of theoretical mechanics combined with 3D analytical geometry, the computer program SSPM (stability of the self-propelled agricultural machines) has been coded. This software is intended to facilitate the analysis, comparison and optimization of different configurations of self-propelled agricultural machines in operation on horizontal and sloped flat terrains at constant velocities and radii of trajectory with respect to their static and dynamic stability. It calculates critical pitch and roll angles of the self-propelled machine and the maximum allowed slope of the flat terrain under the given conditions. The algorithm and the appropriate SSPM software were experimentally verified using the platform and low-scale tractor model. Average difference between calculated and experimental critical values of roll and pitch angles were about 4°     

Quantitative solid phase microextraction – Gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis of five megastigmatrienone isomers in aged wine

Megastigmatrienone is a key flavor compound in tobacco. It has also been detected in wine, where it may contribute to a tobacco/incense aroma, but its importance and concentration in wines had never previously been evaluated.     

Palladium/graphitic carbon nitride catalyst for selective oxygen transfer in Wacker oxidation

Nanoscaled palladium particles supported on graphitic carbon nitride (Pd⁰/g-C₃N₄) is prepared to improve the oxygen transfer in Wacker oxidation via chemical reduction method. From the analysis of FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS and ICP, Pd⁰ particles are firmly combined with g-C₃N₄ layers, and sub-surface ones occupy most of the components. It is worth mentioning that graphene oxide (GO), which is completely recyclable without further pollution, can be used as a ‘solid weak acid’ taking the place of H₂SO₄ and CF₃COOH. Under the optimization conditions, as many as 46 kinds of olefins are transferred into corresponding products with satisfactory yields, and o-methyl styrene gets the highest yield of 94%. After five times of recycling experiment, the yield of acetophenone only decreases by about 7.0% in the uniform reaction process. In virtue of former research results and molecular electrostatic potential, a possible mechanism is put forward to explain the catalytic process.     

Analyzing the coexistence of DSRC and Wi-Fi networks using the Poisson line Cox process

Vehicular networks can aid in traffic monitoring, autonomous driving, and car accidents prevention. Yet, the deployment of these networks has been delayed due to the limited spectrum, especially for the case of unlicensed operations. To handle this issue, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed to permit Wi-Fi devices to operate in the 5.9 GHz band allocated to the intelligent transportation system (ITS). In a recent work, we analyzed the impact of the coexistence of dedicated short range communications (DSRC) and Wi-Fi on future DSRC network deployments by developing a stochastic geometry analytical model that considers a dynamic medium access probability (MAP) of DSRC nodes which uses carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA). This previous work was based on the standard 2D homogeneous Poisson Point Process (PPP) model. In this work, we model the roads using the more applicable but more complex Poisson line process (PLP) Cox point process. We generate performance metrics represented through coverage probability and area system throughput, and we compare these results to our earlier work. The importance of this work is two-fold. First, it allows a further understanding of the impact of DSRC-Wi-Fi coexistence on future DSRC network deployments, and second, it highlights the effectiveness of the PLP in modeling the distribution of vehicles in an area by producing more accurate performance results.     

Hausdorff measures and packing measures of limit sets of CIFSs of generalized complex continued fractions

ABSTRACT

We consider a certain family of CIFSs of the generalized complex continued fractions with a complex parameter space. We show that for each CIFS of the family, the Hausdorff measure of the limit set of the CIFS with respect to the Hausdorff dimension is zero and the packing measure of the limit set of the CIFS with respect to the Hausdorff dimension is positive (main result). This is a new phenomenon of infinite CIFSs which cannot hold in finite CIFSs. We prove the main result by showing some estimates for the unique conformal measure of each CIFS of the family and by using some geometric observations.
