This paper considers the optimal investment, consumption and proportional reinsurance strategies for an insurer under model uncertainty. The surplus process of the insurer before investment and consumption is assumed to be a general jump–diffusion process. The financial market consists of one risk-free asset and one risky asset whose price process is also a general jump–diffusion process. We transform the problem equivalently into a two-person zero-sum forward–backward stochastic differential game driven by two-dimensional Lévy noises. The maximum principles for a general form of this game are established to solve our problem. Some special interesting cases are studied by using Malliavin calculus so as to give explicit expressions of the optimal strategies.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of optimization of investment, consumption and proportional reinsurance for an insurer with option type payoff at the terminal time under the criterion of exponential utility maximization. The surplus process of the insurer and the financial risky asset process are assumed to be diffusion processes driven by Brownian motions which are non-Markovian in general. Very general constraints are imposed on the investment and the proportional reinsurance processes. Based on the martingale optimization principle, we use BSDE and BMO martingale techniques to derive the optimal strategy and the optimal value function. Some interesting particular cases are studied in which the explicit expressions for the optimal strategy are given by using the Malliavin calculus.  相似文献

This paper introduces new money-weighted metrics for investment performance analysis, based on arithmetic means of holding period rates weighted by the investment’s market values. This approach generates rates of return which measure a fund’s or portfolio’s performance and a fund manager’s performance. It also enables to show that the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is a weighted mean of holding period rates associated with interim values which differ from market values, so that value additivity is violated. The manager’s Arithmetic Internal Rate of Return (AIRR) is shown to be the true period equivalent of the cumulative Time Weighted Rate of Return (TWRR), whereas the period TWRR (a geometric return) provides a different ranking. The method is easily generalized for coping with varying benchmark rates. We also cope with the practical problem of estimating interim values whenever they are not available.  相似文献

风险是企业投资决策关键影响因素之一,采纳奈特不确定性来刻画风险,并在此基础上构建了模糊规避偏好和投资有成本可逆条件下企业投资决策模型.模型结果表明企业最优投资策略为双阈值策略:企业增加投资以避免资本边际收益大于上限阈值,削减资本存量以避免资本边际收益低于下限阈值,当资本边际收益处于上下限阈值之间时,企业既不增加投资也不削减资本.比较静态分析显示奈特不确定性增加会降低最优投资策略上下限阈值范围.  相似文献

This paper investigates the investment and reinsurance problem in the presence of stochastic volatility for an ambiguity-averse insurer (AAI) with a general concave utility function. The AAI concerns about model uncertainty and seeks for an optimal robust decision. We consider a Brownian motion with drift for the surplus of the AAI who invests in a risky asset following a multiscale stochastic volatility (SV) model. We formulate the robust optimal investment and reinsurance problem for a general class of utility functions under a general SV model. Applying perturbation techniques to the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman–Isaacs (HJBI) equation associated with our problem, we derive an investment–reinsurance strategy that well approximates the optimal strategy of the robust optimization problem under a multiscale SV model. We also provide a practical strategy that requires no tracking of volatility factors. Numerical study is conducted to demonstrate the practical use of theoretical results and to draw economic interpretations from the robust decision rules.  相似文献

Most decision making research in real options focuses on revenue uncertainty assuming discount rates remain constant. However, for many decisions revenue or cost streams are relatively static and investment is driven by interest rate uncertainty, for example the decision to invest in durable machinery and equipment. Using interest rate models from Cox et al. (1985b), we generalize the work of Ingersoll and Ross (1992) in two ways. Firstly, we include real options on perpetuities (in addition to zero coupon cash flows). Secondly, we incorporate abandonment or disinvestment as well as investment options, and thus model interest rate hysteresis (parallel to revenue uncertainty in Dixit (1989a)). Under stochastic interest rates, economic hysteresis is found to be significant, even for small sunk costs.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of incomplete information in a model where a start-up with a unique idea and technology pioneers a new market but will eventually be expelled from the market by a large firm’s subsequent entry. We evaluate the start-up’s loss due to incomplete information about the large firm’s behavior. We clarify conditions under which the start-up needs more information about the large firm. The proposed method of evaluating the loss due to incomplete information could also be applied to other real options models involving incomplete information.  相似文献
