The convergence of iterative based domain decomposition methods is linked with the absorbing boundary conditions defined on the interface between the sub-domains. For linear elasticity problems, the optimal absorbing boundary conditions are associated with non-local Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps. Most of the methods to approximate these non-local maps are based on a continuous analysis. In this paper, an original algebraic technique based on the computation of local Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps is investigated. Numerical experiments are presented for linear elasticity problems with extreme contrasts in the coefficients.  相似文献

This paper studies decoupled numerical methods for a mixed Stokes/Darcy model for coupling fluid and porous media flows. A two-level algorithm is proposed and analyzed in Mu and Xu (2007) [10]. We generalize the two-level algorithm to a multilevel algorithm in this paper and present numerical analysis on the error estimates for the multilevel algorithm. The multilevel algorithm solves the mixed Stokes/Darcy system by applying efficient legacy code for single model solvers to solve two decoupled Stokes and Darcy subproblems on all the subsequently refined meshes, except for a much smaller global problem only on a very coarse initial mesh. Numerical experiments are conducted for both the two-level and multilevel algorithms to illustrate their effectiveness and efficiency, and validate the related theoretical analysis.  相似文献

We consider a Markovian queue subject to Poisson generated catastrophes. Whenever a catastrophe occurs, all customers are forced to abandon the system, the server is rendered inoperative and an exponential repair time is set on. We assume that the arriving customers decide whether to join the system or balk, based on a natural reward-cost structure. We study the balking behavior of the customers and derive the corresponding Nash equilibrium and social optimal strategies.  相似文献

We consider a strongly heterogeneous medium saturated by an incompressible viscous fluid as it appears in geomechanical modeling.This poroelasticity problem suffers from rapidly oscillating material parameters,which calls for a thorough numerical treatment.In this paper,we propose a method based on the local orthogonal decomposition technique and motivated by a similar approach used for linear thermoelasticity.Therein,local corrector problems are constructed in line with the static equations,whereas we propose to consider the full system.This allows to benefit from the given saddle point structure and results in two decoupled corrector problems for the displacement and the pressure.We prove the optimal first-order convergence of this method and verify the result by numerical experiments.  相似文献

We study the initial–boundary value problem for a Laplace reaction–diffusion equation. After constructing local solutions by using the theory of abstract degenerate evolution equations of parabolic type, we show asymptotic convergence of bounded global solutions if they exist under the assumption that the reaction function is analytic in neighborhoods of their ω-limit sets. Reduction of degenerate evolution equation to multivalued evolution equation enables us to use the theory of the infinite-dimensional Łojasiewicz–Simon gradient inequality.  相似文献

Current theories from biosocial (e.g., the role of neurotransmitters in behavioral features), ecological (e.g., cultural, political, and institutional conditions), and interpersonal (e.g., attachment) perspectives have grounded interpersonal and romantic relationships in normative social experiences. However, these theories have not been developed to the point of providing a solid theoretical understanding of the dynamics present in interpersonal and romantic relationships, and integrative theories are still lacking. In this paper, mathematical models are used to investigate the dynamics of interpersonal and romantic relationships, via ordinary and stochastic differential equations, in order to provide insight into the behaviors of love. The analysis starts with a deterministic model and progresses to nonlinear stochastic models capturing the stochastic rates and factors (e.g., ecological factors, such as historical, cultural and community conditions) that affect proximal experiences and shape the patterns of relationship. Numerical examples are given to illustrate various dynamics of interpersonal and romantic behaviors with particular emphases placed on sustained oscillations and transitions between locally stable equilibria that are observable in stochastic models (closely related to real interpersonal dynamics), but absent in deterministic models.  相似文献
