FORCED OSCILLATION AND APPLICATION OF FUNCTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL INEQUALITIES

In this paper we study the oscillations for a class of functional differential inequalities. By using these properties some forced oscillations to the boundary value problems of functional partial differential equations are established.     

The Study of Minimax Inequalities, Abstract Economics and Applications to Variational Inequalities and Nash Equilibria

In this survey, a new minimax inequality and one equivalent geometricform are proved. Next, a theorem concerning the existence of maximalelements for an LC-majorized correspondence is obtained.By the maximal element theorem, existence theorems of equilibrium point fora noncompact one-person game and for a noncompact qualitative game withLC-majorized correspondences are given. Using the lastresult and employing 'approximation approach', we prove theexistence of equilibria for abstract economies in which the constraintcorrespondence is lower (upper) semicontinuous instead of having lower(upper) open sections or open graphs in infinite-dimensional topologicalspaces. Then, as the applications, the existence theorems of solutions forthe quasi-variational inequalities and generalized quasi-variationalinequalities for noncompact cases are also proven. Finally, with theapplications of quasi-variational inequalities, the existence theorems ofNash equilibrium of constrained games with noncompact are given. Our resultsinclude many results in the literature as special cases.

A CLASS OF TRUST REGION METHODS FOR LINEAR INEQUALITY CONSTRAINED OPTIMIZATION AND ITS THEORY ANALYSIS Ⅱ. LOCAL CONVERGENCE RATE AND NUMERICAL TESTS

In this paper we prove that a class of trust region methods presented in part Ⅰ is superlinearly convergent. Numerical tests are reported thereafter. Results by solving a set of typical problems selected from literatures have demonstrated that our algorithm is effective.     

On the least values of -norms for the Kontorovich–Lebedev transform and its convolution

We establish analogs of the Hausdorff–Young and Riesz–Kolmogorov inequalities and the norm estimates for the Kontorovich–Lebedev transformation and the corresponding convolution. These classical inequalities are related to the norms of the Fourier convolution and the Hilbert transform in L_p spaces, 1p∞. Boundedness properties of the Kontorovich–Lebedev transform and its convolution operator are investigated. In certain cases the least values of the norm constants are evaluated. Finally, it is conjectured that the norm of the Kontorovich–Lebedev operator is equal to . It confirms, for instance, by the known Plancherel-type theorem for this transform when p=2.     

Local smoothing property and Strichartz inequality for Schrödinger equations with potentials superquadratic at infinity

We study smoothing properties for time-dependent Schrödinger equations , , with potentials which satisfy V(x)=O(|x|^m) at infinity, m?2. We show that the solution u(t,x) is 1/m times differentiable with respect to x at almost all , and explain that this is the result of the fact that the sojourn time of classical particles with energy λ in arbitrary compact set is less than CTλ^−1/m during [0,T] when λ is very large. We also show Strichartz's inequality with derivative loss for such potentials and give its application to nonlinear Schrödinger equations.     

On the existence of solutions of variational inequalities in Banach spaces

In this paper, we study the existence of the solution of the variational inequality 〈Tx−ξ,y−x〉?0 by applying the generalized projection operator , where B is a Banach space with dual space B∗ and by using the well-known FanKKM Theorem.     

Bell's Inequality for Two-Particle Mixed Spin States

We derive the Bell–Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt inequalities for two-particle mixed spin states both in the conventional quantum mechanics and in the hidden-variables theory. We consider two cases for the vectors , and specifying the axes onto which the particle spins of a correlated pair are projected. In the first case, all four vectors lie in the same plane, and in the second case, they are oriented arbitrarily. We compare the obtained inequalities and show that the difference between the predictions of the two theories is less for mixed states than for pure states. We find that the inequalities obtained in quantum mechanics and the hidden-variables theory coincide for some special states, in particular, for the mixed states formed by pure factorable states. We discuss the points of similarity and difference between the uncertainty relations and Bell's inequalities. We list all the states for which the right-hand side of the Bell–Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt inequality is identically equal to zero.     

Inequalities of Hadamard Type for r-Convex Functions in Carnot Groups

For a Carnot group G,we establish the relationship between extended mean values and r-convexfunctions which is introduced in this paper,which is a class of inequalities of Hadamard type for r-convexfunction on G.
