Polariton gap solitary waves in semiconductor microcavities

We study nonlinear dynamics of optical pulse propagation in the spectral region inside the polariton gap. It is shown that the Kerr nonlinearity can lead to formation of solitary waves in this region of frequencies.     

厚高阶光学非线性介质Z扫描的变分法分析

利用变分法对具有五阶光学非线性介质的Z扫描特性进行了研究。通过比较，发现当介质在具有较大的五阶非线性系数或较大光强的情况下，五阶非线性项的作用是不可忽略的。这对光限制器的设计和Z扫描实验都具有一定的指导意义。     

Investigation on ultrafast thrid—order optical nonlinearity of metal（dmit）2／mnt）2 Charge transfer complexes

We have investigated the transient third-order optical nonlinearity of the solutions of Metal(dmit)2/(mnt)2 salts in acetone by employing femtosecond optical Kerr gate measurement at 830nm wavelength.An order of enhancement on the second-order hyperppolarizability is found for the above salts with central atoms of Cu and Ni.We have suggested an explanation for the enhancement based on the extension of electronic conjugation by the entring Cu or Ni atom.     

Elliptical Gaussian solitons in synthetic nonlocal nonliear media

This paper studies analytically and numerically the dynamics of two-dimensional elliptical Gaussian solitons in a "double-self-focusing" synthetic nonlocal media featuring elliptical and circular Gaussian response with different degrees of nonlocality.Based on the variational approach,it obtains the approximately analytical solution of such Gaussian elliptical solitons.It also computes the stability of the solitons by numerical simulations.     

结构光测量相位波动误差补偿方法研究

在计算机仿真分析投影仪伽马非线性特性对包裹相位波动误差影响的基础上,提出一种面向相移结构光测量的相位波动误差补偿方法.该方法采用二次多项式最小二乘拟合的方法近似输出条纹光强分布,实现包裹相位波动误差的补偿,减小投影仪非线性导致的系统测量误差.此方法简单,运算量小,不依赖环境光源及投影仪、摄像机具体参数,具有很强的通用性...     

金属Fe薄膜的PLD制备及其非线性光学性质研究

采用脉冲激光沉积（PLD）技术在MgO基片上制备了金属Fe薄膜.利用原子力显微镜研究了不同制备温度对薄膜表面形貌的影响.x射线衍射分析表明沉积温度大于500℃时，Fe薄膜在MgO基片上有很好的结晶性，并有单一取向.通过z扫描方法测量了超薄Fe膜的光学非线性，得到了Fe薄膜的非线性折射率n₂＝709×10^-5cm²/ kW，非线性吸收系数 β＝-552×10^-3cm/W. 关键词： Fe薄膜 非线性 脉冲激光沉积     

Induced focusing and conversion of a Gaussian beam into an elliptic Gaussian beam

We have presented an investigation of the induced focusing in Kerr media of two laser beams, the pump beam and the probe beam, which could be either Gaussian or elliptic Gaussian or a combination of the two. We have used variational formalism to derive relevant beam-width equations. Among several important findings, the finding that a very week probe beam can be guided and focused when power of both beams are well below their individual threshold for self-focusing, is a noteworthy one. It has been found that induced focusing is not possible for laser beams of any wavelength and beam radius. In case both beams are elliptic Gaussian, we have shown that when power of both beams is above a certain threshold value then the effective radius of both beams collapses and collapse distance depends on power. Moreover, it has been found that induced focusing can be employed to convert a circular Gaussian beam into an elliptic Gaussian beam.     

10 Gbps optical soliton transmission link using in-line SOA on standard SMF at 1.3 μm

In this paper, 10 Gbps optical soliton transmission link using in-line semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) for already installed standard single mode fibers (SMF) at 1.3 μm wavelength has been reported. The pattern effect and the impact of chirp on pulse propagation after amplification have been investigated. The observations are based on modeling and simulation optical soliton transmission link. Optical soliton pulse transmission over distances of the order of several hundreds of kilometers has been shown with and without initial chirp.     

向列相液晶中强非局域空间光孤子的实验观察

通过实验对向列相液晶中的非局域空间光孤子的传输进行了研究。理论上基于非线性的液晶孤子传输方程,采用高斯形式的试探解,得到了孤子传输的解析解,以及对液晶中的非局域孤子和Snyder等提出的强非局域孤子模型的结果进行了比较。实验上,观察了空间光孤子在向列相液晶中的传输,找到了不同束宽下空间光孤子的临界功率。比如束宽为2μm时临界功率为2.0mW。观察了向列相液晶中空间光孤子的弛豫过程,并注意到液晶分子的响应时间长达几秒钟,液晶中的孤子形成速度较慢。
