Novel,organosoluble, light‐colored fluorinated polyimides based on 2,2′‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)biphenyl or 2,2′‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl

Two series of fluorinated polyimides were prepared from 2,2′‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)biphenyl ( 2 ) and 2,2′‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl ( 4 ) with various aromatic dianhydrides via a conventional, two‐step procedure that included a ring‐opening polyaddition to give poly(amic acid)s, followed by chemical or thermal cyclodehydration. The inherent viscosities of the polyimides ranged from 0.54 to 0.73 and 0.19 to 0.36 dL/g, respectively. All the fluorinated polyimides were soluble in many polar organic solvents, such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide and N‐methylpyrrolidone, and afforded transparent and light‐colored films via solution‐casting. These polyimides showed glass‐transition temperatures in the ranges of 222–280 and 257–351 °C by DSC, softening temperatures in the range of 264–301 °C by thermomechanical analysis, and a decomposition temperature for 10% weight loss above 520 °C both in nitrogen and air atmospheres. The polyimides had low moisture absorptions of 0.23–0.58%, low dielectric constants of 2.84–3.61 at 10 kHz, and an ultraviolet–visible absorption cutoff wavelength at 351–434 nm. Copolyimides derived from the same dianhydrides with an equimolar mixture of 4,4′‐oxydianiline and diamine 2 or 4 were also prepared and characterized. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Geometrical Molecular Structure Design Concept in Approach to Homo- and Heterometallic Precursors of Advanced Materials in Sol–Gel Technology

The article describes the principles of the Single Source Precursor approach to inorganic materials and introduces the Geometrical Molecular Structure Design Concept (MSDC) based on the choice of a proper molecular structure type for the desired precursor and completing it with ligands providing both the necessary number of donor atoms and the sterical protection of the chosen core. Application of MSDC is illustrated with examples taken from development of new approaches in the synthesis of oxide and sulfide catalysts and ferroelectric oxide materials.

爆炸焊接参数的计算机辅助设计

 根据爆炸焊接理论，综合分析了相关爆炸焊接参数的计算方法，利用Visual C++语言编制了爆炸焊接参数计算机辅助设计程序，该程序采用菜单和视图形式对输入、输出命令结果进行操作，方便直观。与有关实验结果的对比表明，计算所给出的焊接窗口及最佳焊接参数具有很高的准确度。爆炸焊接CAD方法对于减少实验次数，摆脱经验设计方法，选择最佳焊接参数将是非常有用的工具。

The large scale topology and algebraic K-theory of arithmetic groups

New compactifications of symmetric spaces of noncompact type X are constructed using the asymptotic geometry of the Borel–Serre enlargement. The controlled K-theory associated to these compactifications is used to prove the integral Novikov conjecture for arithmetic groups.     

Non-protein amino acids in peptide design

An overview of the use of non-protein amino acids in the design of conformationally well-defined peptides, based on work from the author’s laboratory, is discussed. The crystal structures of several designed oligopeptides illustrate the useα-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) in the construction of helices, D-amino acids in the design of helix termination segments and^DPro-Xxx segments for nucleating ofβ-hairpin structures.β- andγ-amino acid residues have been used to expand the range of designed polypeptide structures. Extending the possibility of an N-Troc-protected sialic acid donor toward variant sialo-glycoside synthesis

The potential of an N-Troc-protected sialic acid donor, equipped with phenylsulfenyl functionality as a leaving group, has been explored. As a result, the entitled donor was proven to be highly reactive and to have broad applicability toward the synthesis of variant sialo-glycans, which have N-glycolyl, de-N-acetyl, 1,5-lactam and 8-O-sulfo sialic acid analogs.     

两段级联掺铒光纤放大器的优化研究

基于Giles模型,研究了980 nm和1480 nm泵浦的两段级联掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)的设计,得出了掺铒光纤(EDF)的最佳长度和光隔离器的最佳位置随泵浦功率和信号功率的变化关系.比较980 nm和1480 nm泵浦的两段级联EDFA,可以发现,前者的最佳EDF长度短,而光隔离器最佳位置距EDFA输入端远.     

On the group extension of the transformation associated to non-archimedean continued fractions

Summary Let F_q be a finite field with q elements. We consider formal Laurent series of F_q -coefficients with their continued fraction expansions by F_q -polynomials. We prove some arithmetic properties for almost every formal Laurent series with respect to the Haar measure. We construct a group extension of the non-archimedean continued fraction transformation and show its ergodicity. Then we get some results as an application of the individual ergodic theorem. We also discuss the convergence rate for limit behaviors.
