We give a direct proof of Schauder's fixed point theorem in the setting of geodesic metric spaces, generalizing the classical Schauder's theorem and improving a recent version of this theorem in CAT(κ)CAT(κ) spaces. The evolution Boussinesq equations describe the evolution of the temperature and velocity fields of viscous incompressible Newtonian fluids. Very often, they are a reasonable model to render relevant phenomena of flows in which the thermal effects play an essential role. In the paper we prescribe non-Dirichlet boundary conditions on a part of the boundary and prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Boussinesq equations on a (short) time interval. The length of the time interval depends only on certain norms of the given data. In the proof we use a fixed point theorem method in Sobolev spaces with non-integer order derivatives. The proof is performed for Lipschitz domains and a wide class of data.  相似文献

We study the structure of alternative superalgebras that satisfy the descending chain condition (DCC) for two-sided ideals. The main results state that the Baer radical in an alternative superalgebra of characteristic ≠ 2, 3 with DCC on two-sided ideals is solvable and every such a semiprime superalgebra (of arbitrary characteristic) is isomorphic to a subdirect sum of an associative superalgebra with this property and a finite direct sum of simple alternative non-associative superalgebras.  相似文献

The paper studies a train scheduling problem faced by railway infrastructure managers during real-time traffic control. When train operations are perturbed, a new conflict-free timetable of feasible arrival and departure times needs to be re-computed, such that the deviation from the original one is minimized. The problem can be viewed as a huge job shop scheduling problem with no-store constraints. We make use of a careful estimation of time separation among trains, and model the scheduling problem with an alternative graph formulation. We develop a branch and bound algorithm which includes implication rules enabling to speed up the computation. An experimental study, based on a bottleneck area of the Dutch rail network, shows that a truncated version of the algorithm provides proven optimal or near optimal solutions within short time limits.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence of a solution of a coupled system involving a two phase incompressible flow in the ground and the mechanical deformation of the porous medium where the porosity is a function of the global pressure. The model is strongly coupled and involves a nonlinear degenerate parabolic equation. In order to show the existence of a weak solution, we consider a sequence of related uniformly parabolic problems and apply the Schauder fixed point theorem to show that they possess a classical solution. We then prove the relative compactness of sequences of solutions by means of the Fréchet-Kolmogorov theorem; this yields the convergence of a subsequence to a weak solution of the parabolic system.  相似文献

We consider the evolution equation whose right-hand side is the sum of a linear unbounded operator generating a compact strongly continuous semigroup and a continuous operator acting in function spaces. We prove the existence of a solution that stays within a given closed convex set and moreover, satisfies a functional boundary condition, particular cases of which are the Cauchy initial condition, periodicity condition, mixed condition including continuous transformations of spatial variables, etc. The main result is illustrated by using an example of the boundary-value problem for a partial operator-differential equation.
