Isomeric alkylidene complexes syn- and anti-(PNP)Ti[CtBu(C6F5)](F) (1) and (PNP)Ti[CtBu(C7F7)](F) (2) have been generated from C-F bond addition of hexafluorobenzene (C6F6) and octafluorotoluene (C7F8) across the alkylidyne ligand of transient (PNP)Ti≡CtBu (A) (PNPN[2-P(CHMe2)2-4-methylphenyl]2), which was generated from the precursor (PNP)TiCHtBu(CH2tBu). Two mechanistic scenarios for the activation of the C-F bond by A are considered: 1,2-CF addition and [2 + 2]-cycloaddition/β-fluoride elimination. Upon formation of the alkylidenes 1 and 2, the kinetic and thermodynamic alkylidene product is the syn isomer, which gradually isomerizes to the corresponding anti isomer to ultimately establish an equilibrium mixture (when using 1, 65/35) if the solution is heated in benzene to 105 °C for 1 h. Single crystal X-Ray crystallographic data obtained for the two isomers of 2 (and syn isomer of 1) are in good agreement with computed DFT-optimized models. Our calculations suggest convincingly that the isomerization process proceeds via a concerted rotation involving a heterolytic bond cleavage about the alkylidene bond. The two rotamers are thermodynamically very close in energy and interconvert with an estimated barrier of ∼26 kcal/mol. The electronic reason for this unexpectedly low barrier is investigated.  相似文献

The effect of rotation speed modulation on the onset of centrifugally driven convection has been studied using linear stability analysis. Darcy flow model with zero-gravity is used to describe the flow. The perturbation method is applied to find the correction in the critical Rayleigh number. It is found that by applying modulation of proper frequency to the rotation speed, it is possible to delay or advance the onset of centrifugal convection.  相似文献

Electromagnetic waves could carry orbital angular momentum. Such momentum can be transferred to macroscopic objects and can make them rotate under a constant torque. Based on experimental observations, we investigate the origin of orbital angular momentum and energy transfer. Due to angular momentum and energy conservation, we show that angular momentum transfer is due to the change in the sign of angular momentum upon reflection. This leads to a rotational Doppler shift of the electromagnetic wave frequency, ensuring energy conservation.  相似文献

The joint transform correlator (JTC) is one of the two main optical image processing architecture which provides a highly effective way of comparing images in a wide range of applications. Traditionally, an optical correlator is used to compare an unknown input scene with a pre-captured reference image library, to detect if the reference occurs within the input. Strength of the correlation signal decreases rapidly as the input object rotates or varies in scale relative to the reference object. The aim of this paper is to overcome the intolerance of the JTC to rotation and scale changes in the target image. Many JTC systems are constructed with the use of ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) spatial light modulators (SLMs) as they provide fast two-dimensional binary modulation of coherent light. Due to the binary nature of the FLC SLMs used in the JTC systems, any image addressed to the device need to have some form of thresholding. Carefully thresholding the grey scale input plane and the joint power spectrum (JPS) has significant effect on the quality of correlation peaks and zero order (DC) noise. A new thresholding technique to binarise the JPS has been developed and implemented optically. This algorithm selectively enhances the desirable fringes in the JPS which provide correlation peaks of higher intensity. Zero order noise is further reduced when compared to existing thresholding techniques.Keeping in mind the architecture of the JTC and limitations of FLC SLMs, a new technique to design rotation and scale invariant binary phase only filters for the JTC architecture is presented. Filers design with this technique have limited dynamic range, higher discriminability among target and non-target objects, and convenience for implementation on FLC SLMs. Simulation and experiments shows excellent results of various rotation and scale invariant filters designed with this technique. A rotation invariant filter is needed for various machine vision applications of the JTC. By fixing the distance between camera and input object, the scale sensitivity of the correlator can be avoided. In contrast to the industrial machine vision applications, scale factor is very important factor for the applications of the JTC systems in defence and security. A security system using a scale invariant JTC will be able to detect a target object well in advance and will provide more time to take a decision.  相似文献

Freehand three-dimensional ultrasound is usually acquired with a position sensor attached to the ultrasound probe. However, position sensors can be expensive, obtrusive and difficult to calibrate. For this reason, there has been much research on alternative, image-based techniques, with in-plane motion tracked using conventional image registration methods, and out-of-plane motion inferred from the decorrelation between nearby B-scans. However, since out-of-plane motion is not the only source of decorrelation, image-based positions determined in this way suffer from cumulative drift errors. In this paper, we consider the effect of probe rotation on correlation and how this affects the position estimates. We then present a novel technique to compensate for out-of-plane rotations, by making use of orientation measurements from an unobtrusive sensor. Using simulations and in vitro experiments, we demonstrate that the technique is able to reduce the drift error in elevational positioning by 57% on average.  相似文献

Rotating and stably stratified turbulence exhibit not only significant anisotropies but also dynamics, which are qualitatively different from purely rotating or stratified turbulence. Furthermore, the different time scales due to rotation, stratification and the turbulence one open up a wide field of possibilities for the temporal evolution of rotating and stratified turbulence.We analyze results from DNS with different parameters α = f/N by visualizing iso-enstrophy surfaces, the temporal evolution of velocity correlation length scales and angular energy spectra.We retrieve standard results, such as a large anisotropy for small scales in rotating turbulence and a large anisotropy for intermediate scales in the vortex mode of stratified turbulence. Furthermore, at large times we find qualitatively different phenomena for cases α = 10 and α = 0.1 such as modified cascades due to the existence of potential energy or small scale vorticity production respectively.  相似文献
