Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is widely used in industry, but it is difficult to find any extensive discussion of theological relations that describe it. The present paper discusses the behaviour of rigid PVC in extensional deformations at various temperatures. In the tests, a step elongation was applied at an initial time, then after a delay the specimen was cut, permitting recoil. Both linear and nonlinear strain regimes were studied; the linear relaxation properties (relaxation function, storage modulus) were cross-checked with eccentric-disk measurements. In the non-linear strain regime a single-integral constitutive equation of the KBKZ Wagner type was used. Separability of time and strain effects was demonstrated in our tests and so a damping function could be found which was only a function of strain. Video recordings of recoil were made, and detailed predictions of the strain-time behaviour were checked against experiments.Various constitutive equation proposals were used in the comparison, and the separated kernel integral irreversible model performed reasonably well; some other models of a differential type, and a Doi-Edwards model were not as accurate.Dedicated to Professor Arthur S. A solution is presented for the three dimensional static thermoelastic problem of an absolutely rigid inclusion (anticrack) in the case when a uniform heat flow is directed along the inclusion plane. By using the potential method and the Fourier transform technique, the problem is reduced to a system of coupled two-dimensional singular integral equations for the shear stress jumps across the inclusion. As an illustration, a typical application to the circular anticrack is presented. Explicit expressions for the thermal stresses in the inclusion plane are obtained and discussed from the point of view of material failure.  相似文献

In this paper we study a double phase problem with an irregular obstacle. The energy functional under consideration is characterized by the fact that both ellipticity and growth switch between a type of polynomial and a type of logarithm, which can be regarded as a borderline case of the double phase functional with (p,q)-growth. We obtain an optimal global Calderón–Zygmund type estimate for the obstacle problem with double phase in the borderline case.  相似文献

Cyclic trimers of n-nonaldehyde (NA), n-decaldehyde (DA), n-undecaldehyde, (UA) and n-dodecaldehyde (DDA) were prepared by reacting the individual aldehydes with protic or Lewis acids. Higher aliphatic aldehydes whose long paraffinic chains dominate the general properties of these compounds do not trimerize readily the trimers, when formed, are purified with difficulty. The cyclic trimers, characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy, are exclusively the cis isomers and commonly exist in all equatorial conformations. The melting behavior of the cyclic trimers was studied by DSC. The melting endotherms and the enthalpies of fusion increase with increasing chain length. Although the melting temperatures of the cyclic trimers are similar to the melting range of the side-chain crystallization of the corresponding crystalline isotactic polyaldehydes, the transition peaks of the trimers are single peaks and much sharper than the corresponding polymer peaks.  相似文献

This paper documents a numerical method for a two dimensional time-harmonic wave scattering problem by penetrable obstacles. The Fourier–Bessel function combining a multipole expansion is used to give an approximation of the scattering field. This method is based on the least-squares technique. Especially, we find a simple function to control the errors, and then give the theoretical results of the presented method. The continuity across the element boundaries is enforced by minimizing a simple quadratic functional. This method does not need to truncate the domain and could obtain high accuracy by increasing the number of basis functions with even coarse mesh. At last, we give some examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach including the solution domain being multiple or even multi-connected.  相似文献

Sodium deoxycholate (NaDOC) can induce 1-bromo-4-(bromoacetyl)naphthalene (BBAN) to undergo strong room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) without the removal of dissolved oxygen from the solution. RTP spectra, phosphorescence polarization and 13C NMR results, along with the molecular modeling calculations, supported the conclusion that BBAN molecule was combined in a sandwich with two NaDOC molecules by a “back-to-back” hydrophobic interaction arising from the apolar faces of the NaDOC molecules, which provided BBAN with a rigid enough microenvironment to produce RTP.  相似文献

Abstract

A versatile method for the preparation of dicarba analogues of cystine as substituted benzene-, dihydrobenzene-, and tetrahydrobenzene-1,2-bis(alanine) derivatives is described. The partially saturated products resulted from Diels-Alder adduct formation with stereoselectively prepared (2R,7R)-2,7-diacetamido-4,5-bis (methylene)octane-1,8-dioic acid dimethyl ester. Aromatization of the dihydro adducts by manganese dioxide provided the parent benzene-1,2-bis(alanine) derivatives.  相似文献

Periodic arrays of micro‐ or nanopillars constitute solid‐state matrices with excellent properties for DNA size separation. Nanofabrication technologies offer many solutions to tailor the geometry of obstacle arrays, yet most studies have been conducted with cylinders arranged in hexagonal lattices. In this report, we investigate the dynamics of single DNA collision with elliptical nanoposts using hydrodynamic actuation. Our data show that the asymmetry of the obstacles has minor effect on unhooking dynamics, and thus confirm recent predictions obtained by Brownian dynamics simulations. In addition, we show that the disengagement dynamics are correctly predicted by models of electrophoresis, and propose that this consistency is associated to the confinement in slit‐like channels. We finally conclude that elliptical posts are expected to marginally improve the performances of separation devices.  相似文献
