Based on a recursive Green's function method, we investigate the conductance of mesoscopic graphene rings in the presence of disorder, in the limit of phase coherent transport. Two models of disorder are considered: edge disorder and surface disorder. Our simulations show that the conductance decreases exponentially with the edge disorder and the surface disorder. In the presence of flux, a clear Aharonov-Bohm conductance oscillation with the period Φ0 (Φ0=h/e) is observed. The edge disorder and the surface disorder have no effect on the period of AB oscillation. The amplitudes of AB oscillations vary with gate voltage and flux, which is consistent with the previous results. Additionally, ballistic rectification and negative differential resistance are observed in I-V curves, with on/off characteristic. 相似文献

Two kinds of topological soliton (skyrmion and magnetic vortex ring) in ferromagnets are studied. They have the common topological origin, a tensor Hαβ = n→·(δαn→×βδn→), which describes the non-trivial distribution of local orientation of magnetization n→ at large distances in space. The topological stability of skyrmion is protected by the winding number. Knot-like topological defect as magnetic vortex rings is also studied. On the assumption that magnetic vortex rings are geometric lines, we present their δ-function distribution in ferromagnetic materials. Furthermore, it is briefly shown that Hopf invariant is a proper topological invariant to describe the topology of magnetic vortex rings. 相似文献

We study the interplay between impurity scattering and Coulomb interaction effects in the absorption spectrum of neutral bound magnetoexcitons confined in quantum-ring structures. Impurity scattering breaks the rotational symmetry of the ring system, introducing characteristic features in the optical emission. Signatures of the optical Aharonov–Bohm effect are still present for weak scattering and strong Coulomb screening. Furthermore, an impurity-induced modulation of the absorption strength is present even for a strong impurity potential and low screening. This behavior is likely responsible of recent experimental observations in quantum-ring structures. 相似文献

A novel method for mass measurements of short-lived exotic nuclides is presented. Exotic nuclides were produced and separated
in flight at relativistic energies with the fragment separator (FRS) and were injected into the experimental storage ring
(ESR). Operating the ESR in the isochronous mode we performed mass measurements of neutron deficient fragments of 84Kr with half-lives larger than 50 ms. However, this experimental technique is applicable in a half-life range down to a few
μs. A mass resolving power of 110000 (FWHM) has been achieved. Results are presented for the masses of 68As, 70,71Se and 73Br.

Oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions of tree ring cellulose (δ13Ccell and δ18Ocell) were measured for pines growing at four sites in east Germany. Three sites differed markedly in soil water availability within a short distance and the fourth site served as a reference. The choice of the sites was guided by the desire to detect effects of air pollution on the long-term trend of isotopic compositions and to examine the influence of soil water availability on the relationship between the carbon and oxygen isotope ratios. Locations in east Germany are particularly well suited for the study of pollution effects because there was a steady increase in environmental contamination until the German Reunification in 1990, followed by a sharp decline due to the implementation of stricter environmental standards. The long-term trend of δ13Ccell showed an extraordinary increase in the period 1945–1990 and a rapid decrease after 1990, whereas δ18Ocell remained nearly constant. The increase of δ13Ccell is explained by secondary fractionation caused by phytotoxicity of SO2. Two effects are mainly responsible for the secondary fractionation under SO2 exposure: increase of dark respiration, and changes in photosynthate allocation and partitioning. Both effects do not influence δ18Ocell. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation between the year-to-year variations of carbon and oxygen isotope ratios (δ13Cresid and δ18Oresid) has been found for all sites. The slopes of the relationship between δ13Cresid and δ18Oresid differ insignificantly. It is concluded that this relationship is not influenced by soil water availability but by climatic variables. 相似文献

The FRS-ESR facility at GSI provides one of the most efficient methods for direct mass measurements. In the present experiment,
exotic nuclei were produced via fragmentation of 152Sm projectiles in a thick beryllium target at 500-600 MeV/u, separated in-flight with the fragment separator FRS, and injected
into the storage-cooler ring ESR. Time-resolved Schottky Mass Spectrometry was applied for mass measurements of stored and
electron-cooled bare and few-electron ions. 373 different nuclides were identified by means of the spectra of their revolution
frequencies. Masses for 18 nuclides (84Zr, 92Ru, 94Rh, 107,108,110Sb, 111,112,114I, 118Ba, 122,123La, 124Ce, 127Pr, 129Nd, 132Pm, 134Sm, 137Eu) have been determined for the first time. Masses for 111,112I and 113Xe have been obtained via known α-decay energies. The experiment and first results will be presented. 相似文献

Let Λ be a left and right Noetherian ring. For a positive integer k, we give an equivalent condition that flat dimensions of the first k terms in the minimal injective resolution of Λ are less than or equal to k. In this case we show that the subcategory consisting of k-torsionfree modules is extension closed. Moreover we prove that for a Noetherian algebra every subcategory consisting of i-torsionfree modules is extension closed for any 1 ≤ i ≤ k if and only if every subcategory consisting of i-th syzygy modules is extension closed for any 1 ≤ i ≤ k. Duistermaat and van der Kallen show that there is no nontrivial complex Laurent polynomial all of whose powers have a zero constant term. Inspired by this, Sturmfels poses two questions: Do the constant terms of a generic Laurent polynomial form a regular sequence? If so, then what is the degree of the associated zero-dimensional ideal? In this note, we prove that the Eulerian numbers provide the answer to the second question.
