TOPSIS (technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution) is a multiple criteria method to identify solutions from a finite set of alternatives based upon simultaneous minimization of distance from an ideal point and maximization of distance from a nadir point. This paper proposes a fuzzy TOPSIS algorithm to solve bi-level multi-objective decision-making (BL-MODM) problems, and in which the objective function at each level are non-linear functions which are to be maximized. The proposed model for getting the satisfactory solution of the BL-MODM problems includes the membership functions for the upper level decision variables vector with possible tolerances, the membership function of the distance function from the positive ideal solution (PIS) and the membership function of the distance function from the negative ideal solution (NIS). In this paper, we use the variational iteration method (VIM) for optimal control problems. First, optimal control problems are transferred to Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation as a nonlinear first order hyperbolic partial differential equation. Then, the basic VIM is applied to construct a nonlinear optimal feedback control law. By this method, the control and state variables can be approximated as a function of time. Also, the numerical value of the performance index is obtained readily. In this paper, a robust and accurate algorithm for solving both linear and nonlinear singular boundary value problems is proposed. We introduce the Chebyshev wavelets operational matrix of derivative and product operation matrix. Chebyshev wavelets expansions together with operational matrix of derivative are employed to solve ordinary differential equations in which, at least, one of the coefficient functions or solution function is not analytic. We consider a free boundary problem modeling tumor growth where the model equations include a diffusion equation for the nutrient concentration and the Stokes equation for the proliferation of tumor cells. For any positive radius R, it is known that there exists a unique radially symmetric stationary solution. The proliferation rate μ and the cell-to-cell adhesiveness γ are two parameters for characterizing “aggressiveness” of the tumor. We compute symmetry-breaking bifurcation branches of solutions by studying a polynomial discretization of the system. By tracking the discretized system, we numerically verified a sequence of μ/γ symmetry breaking bifurcation branches. This paper focuses on detecting nuclear weapons on cargo containers using port security screening methods, where the nuclear weapons would presumably be used to attack a target within the United States. This paper provides a linear programming model that simultaneously identifies optimal primary and secondary screening policies in a prescreening-based paradigm, where incoming cargo containers are classified according to their perceived risk. The proposed linear programming model determines how to utilize primary and secondary screening resources in a cargo container screening system given a screening budget, prescreening classifications, and different device costs. Structural properties of the model are examined to shed light on the optimal screening policies. The model is illustrated with a computational example. Sensitivity analysis is performed on the ability of the prescreening in correctly identifying prescreening classifications and secondary screening costs. Results reveal that there are fewer practical differences between the screening policies of the prescreening groups when prescreening is inaccurate. Moreover, devices that can better detect shielded nuclear material have the potential to substantially improve the system’s detection capabilities. 相似文献

We study boundary value problems for fractional integro-differential equations involving Caputo derivative of order α ∈ (n-1,n) in Banach spaces.
