Isolated polyfluorobenzene (PFB) molecules and their protonated forms are investigated by the AM1 method with full geometry optimization. The proton affinities of PFB are estimated for different protonated positions. The proton affinity of PFB averaged over all isomers is shown to decrease monotonically as the number of fluorine atoms in the molecule increases. The relative populations of different isomers of arenonium ions (AI) formed by PFB protonation are determined. From the calculated data, the value of + for the F atom in theipso-position is estimated as 1.00. The activation energies of the 1,2-hydrogen shifts in AI are calculated. The dependences of the proton affinity and the activation energies of 1,2-hydrogen shifts on the number of halogen atoms are found to have distinct characters for PFB and polychlorobenzenes. trans-Pd(NO3)H(PCy3)2 (I) when treated with Et4NCl forms the hydride trans-PdClH(PCy3)2 which in turn reacts with AgPF6 in acetonitrile to give trans-[PdH(CH3CN)(PCy3)2]PF6 (III). Both I and III react smoothly with acetylenes containing one electron-withdrawing group to give alkenyl products. The geometry of the resulting alkenyl ligand implies that cis addition has occurred and that the hydridic hydrogen adds to the acetylenic carbon containing the electron-withdrawing group.Acetylenes containing two electron-withdrawing groups give mixtures from which both alkenyl and zerovalent acetylene compounds can sometimes be isolated. In the presence of proton sponge, monosubstituted acetylenes still give alkenyl products while those substituted with two electron-withdrawing groups give the zerovalent products in good yield. The relevance of these results to an understanding of the nature of the migratory insertion reaction is discussed.  相似文献

The mathematical basis of LCAO MO theory is studied, both within the Hartree-Fock approximation and in more exact formulations. The basic LCAO expansion for molecular orbitals ¦> in terms of atomic orbitals ¦x> is conveniently written ¦> = ¦x> S –1 B where S is the overlap matrix for atomic orbitals and B is the matrix of atomic orbital-molecular orbital overlaps. It is suggested that matrices P and Q, defined by P=B B and Q=BnB where n is the matrix of molecular orbital occupation numbers, are appropriate to the interpretation of molecular calculations in terms of atomic orbital components, electronic populations and the degree of bonding. The addition of secondary and primary amines to ethyl (1-amino-9,10-anthraquinon-2-yl)propynoate affords an easily separable mixture of the corresponding ethyl 3-dialkylaminoor 3-alkylamino-3-(1-amino-9,10-anthraquinon-2-yl)acrylate and 3-dialkylamino- or 3-alkylaminonaphthol[2,3-h]quinoline-2(1H), 7,12-trione (in ∼4: 1 ratio). Intramolecular cyclization of the resulting substituted ethyl acrylates results in the formation of 4-dialkylaminoor 4-alkylamino-2-chlorinated pyridine rings. The first part of this approach is concerned with the elaboration of a radical polymerization model of styrenne, based on a kinetic diagram that includes chemical and thermal initiation, propagation, termination by recombination and chain transfer to the monomer. Furthermore, volume contraction during polymerization is considered, as well as the gel and glass effects. The mathematical formalism that describes the model in terms of moments is explored in detail. The model was then used to predict the changes in monomer conversion and molecular weight after intermediate addition of initiator and monomer. The results of this operation are dependent on the conditions of the reaction mass, quantity, and moment of substance addition. Therefore, the simulations were performed at different times with respect to the gel effect; before, during and after this phenomenon, and also with respect to different temperatures and initiators. Increasing the initiator concentration before the gel effect leads to an earlier appearance of the phenomenon and to a decrease in molecular weight. The ratio reveals a polydispersity index smaller for the intermediate addition of initiator. No significant changes take place during or after the gel effect. If along with the initiator, unreacted monomver (used to dissolve the initiator) enters the reactor, a small dip in conversion is observed. The general conclusion of this paper reveals the intermediate addition of initiator as a method to control polymer properties and to prevent the “dead-end” polymerization of styrene.  相似文献

The standard potentialss E o of M/M+ (M=Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs) electrodes in aqueous urea solutions containing 12, 20, 30 and 37% by weight of urea have been determined at 25°C from emf measurements on the cell M(Hg)/MCl (m), solvent/AgCl–Ag, from the activities of metals in amalgams by use of a similar type of cell in water, and from the values ofs E o of the Ag/AgCl electrode determined earlier. The standard free energies of transfer of MCl, G t o (MCl), from water to the mixed solvents, computed by use of these values and those for the Ag–AgCl electrode, rise sharply from Li+ to Na+ but fall from Na+ to K+ and rather sharply from K+ to Cs+ with a maximum at Na+ in all the solvent compositions. This has been attributed to the superimposition of soft-soft interactions on the electrostatic interactions between the ions and the negative charge centers of the possible hydrogen-bonded solvent complexes in the mixed solvents. Comparison of G t o (i) values for individual ions, obtained by a simultaneous extrapolation procedure, with those in aqueous mixtures of methanol,t-butanol, and dimethyl sulfoxide leads to the conclusion that the solvation of these ions in all these solvents is chiefly dictated by the acid-base type of ion-solvent interactions.  相似文献

Samples of poly[1-(3-sulfopropyl)-2-vinyl-pyridinium-betaine] (PSPV) have been synthesized to high conversion by free radical polymerization in aqueous solution of the zwitterionic monomer SPV with several concentrations of the crosslinker N,N′-methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBA). The densities of the resultant xerogels increased regularly with the content of MBA. Hydrogels obtained by swelling them in water and aqueous KSCN solution were examined by gravimetric and dimensional analysis. The water contents increased with decreasing content of MBA, the value of 92.7 wt% at the lowest MBA content being higher than that for other zwitterionic hydrogels. Enhanced swelling occurred in 1 M aq. KSCN at each MBA content, the total swelling being 98.1 wt% at the lowest crosslinker content. Swelling increased with increasing temperature. An approximate procedure to formulating swelling equilibrium in term of the volume fraction of water in hydrogel, in conjunction with the van’t Hoff equation, yields a small positive value for the enthalpy of swelling. This is compared with values derived similarly for other hydrogels.  相似文献

Two sufficient criteria for the convergence of the Rayleigh-Ritz Method (RRM) with respect to the eigenvalues (E-convergence) of non-relativistic electronic Hamiltonians of molecules are discussed and compared. Moreover, a necessary and sufficient criterion is given. By example (Sect. 9) it is shown that the L 2-completeness of the basis is not sufficient to guarantee E-convergence. The convergence of the wave functions in different norms (-convergence) is also investigated. In particular, sufficient conditions for the one-particle basis functions (orbitals) are given, such that a CI calculation in this basis is both E- and -convergent.  相似文献

Enthalpies of solution of sodium benzoate, potassium benzoate, and potassium halo-substituted benzoates are reported at 298.15°K in water and in nine water-tert-butyl alchol mixtures. Transfer enthalpies from water to the mixed solvent go through a maximum for about 0.055 mole fraction of alcohol. Additivity of ionic contributions in the enthalpies of transfer is verified. Substituent effects on the transfer enthalpies of benzoates are discussed in terms of size of the solutes and cohesion of the solvent mixtures. For Part V, see ref. 1.  相似文献
