The growth of ordered domains in lattice gas models, which occurs after the system is quenched from infinite temperature to a state below the critical temperatureT
c, is studied by Monte Carlo simulation. For a square lattice with repulsion between nearest and next-nearest neighbors, which in equilibrium exhibits fourfold degenerate (2×1) superstructures, the time-dependent energy E(t), domain size L(t), and structure functionS(q, t) are obtained, both for Glauber dynamics (no conservation law) and the case with conserved density (Kawasaki dynamics). At late times the energy excess and halfwidth of the structure factor decrease proportional tot

The exploration and practice of online learning of "Physical Chemistry" is carried out based on MOOC teaching, with student learning as the center and teacher guidance as the support. Taking the most difficult chapter of "fundamentals for statistical thermodynamic" as an example, we designed a complex teaching program that includes previews, watching MOOC videos in class, real-time online exercises, teachers' answers, and after-class reflection and questioning. The students were encouraged to learn independently through the reserved information, designed activities and assignments. A deterministic algorithm for enumeration of transmembrane protein folds is presented. Using a set of sparse pairwise atomic distance constraints (such as those obtained from chemical cross-linking, FRET, or dipolar EPR experiments), the algorithm performs an exhaustive search of secondary structure element packing conformations distributed throughout the entire conformational space. The study of locally s-distance transitive graphs initiated by the authors in previous work, identified that graphs with a star quotient are of particular interest. This paper shows that the study of locally s-distance transitive graphs with a star quotient is equivalent to the study of a particular family of designs with strong symmetry properties that we call nicely affine and pairwise transitive. This work is devoted to the study of tensor gauge fields on a string-like defect in six dimensions. This model is very successful in localizing fields of various spins only by gravitational interaction. Due to problems of field localization in membrane models we are motivated to investigate if a string-like defect localizes the Kalb–Ramond field. In contrast to what happens in Randall–Sundrum and thick brane scenarios we find a localized zero mode without the addition of other fields in the bulk. Considering the local string defect we obtain analytical solutions for the massive modes. Also, we take the equations of motion in a supersymmetric quantum mechanics scenario in order to analyze the massive modes. The influence of the mass as well as the angular quantum number in the solutions is described. An additional analysis on the massive modes is performed by the Kaluza–Klein decomposition, which provides new details about the KK masses. 相似文献

Multidimensional scaling has a wide range of applications when observations are not continuous but it is possible to define a distance (or dissimilarity) among them. However, standard implementations are limited when analyzing very large datasets because they rely on eigendecomposition of the full distance matrix and require very long computing times and large quantities of memory. Here, a new approach is developed based on projection of the observations in a space defined by a subset of the full dataset. The method is easily implemented. A simulation study showed that its performance are satisfactory in different situations and can be run in a short time when the standard method takes a very long time or cannot be run because of memory requirements. 相似文献
