In this paper, we propose a technique for building adaptive wavelets by means of an extension of the lifting scheme. Our scheme comprises an adaptive update lifting step and a fixed prediction lifting step. The adaptivity consists hereof that the system can choose between two different update filters, and that this choice is triggered by the local gradient of the original signal. If the gradient is large (in some seminorm sense) it chooses one filter, if it is small the other. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the invertibility of such an adaptive system for various scenarios. Furthermore, we present some examples to illustrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

Summary The analytical roles of chromatographic variables (column length, etc.) can be soundly comprehended and compared in terms of the precision (Φ) of measurements and efficiency (ϑ) of analysis which are described as Shannon information and information flow, respectively. The φϑ plots of the optimization process and the information Φ transmitted by a single peak are useful to understand the analytical structure of optimization. We present a program for computing symmetric quadrature rules on triangles and tetrahedra. A set of rules are obtained by using this program. Quadrature rules up to order 21 on triangles and up to order 14 on tetrahedra have been obtained which are useful for use in finite element computations. We designed and fabricated a fully automatic fast face recognition optical parallel correlator [E. Watanabe and K. Kodate: Appl. Opt. 44 (2005) 5666] based on the VanderLugt principle. The implementation of an as-yet unattained ultra high-speed system was aided by reconfiguring the system to make it suitable for easier parallel processing, as well as by composing a higher accuracy correlation filter and high-speed ferroelectric liquid crystal-spatial light modulator (FLC-SLM). In running trial experiments using this system (dubbed FARCO), we succeeded in acquiring remarkably low error rates of 1.3% for false match rate (FMR) and 2.6% for false non-match rate (FNMR). Given the results of our experiments, the aim of this paper is to examine methods of designing correlation filters and arranging database image arrays for even faster parallel correlation, underlining the issues of calculation technique, quantization bit rate, pixel size and shift from optical axis. The correlation filter has proved its excellent performance and higher precision than classical correlation and joint transform correlator (JTC). Moreover, arrangement of multi-object reference images leads to 10-channel correlation signals, as sharply marked as those of a single channel. This experiment result demonstrates great potential for achieving the process speed of 10000 face/s.  相似文献

All-optical microwave filters are important parts of fiber-optic microwave/millimeter wave processing systems. In this paper, two novel passive tunable all-optical microwave filters based on fiber loop and chirped fiber Bragg gratings (CFBGs) are demonstrated, where the frequency response of the both filters can be continuously tuned by adjusting the wavelength of the input light. The required free spectral range (FSR) of the filters can be obtained by carefully controlling the length of fiber loop and the positions of the CFBGs in the fiber loop. Experimental results prove the feasibility of the proposed filtering structures.  相似文献

介绍一种分光路二维剪切干涉光电检测系统。该系统实现了两正交方向(二维)同时进行检测与计算机自动化数据处理;采用了一系列消噪声措施和两图像相减等技术,使得波前重构中能较好地采用简单的数值积分方法;并得到了在士10μm的测量范围内,方差不超过0. 257μm和0. 05μm的灵敏度。利用该系统成功地对强激光腔镜变形过程实现了动态检测。  相似文献

Mid‐infrared ultrafast lasers have emerged as a promising platform for both science and industry because of their inherent high raw power and eye‐safe spectrum. 2D nanostructures such as graphene have emerged as promising photonic materials for laser mode‐locking to generate ultrashort pulses. However, there are still many unanswered questions about graphene's key advantages to be practical devices, especially over the matured semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). In this work, we conducted systematic comparisons on the nonlinear optical properties of graphene and that of a commercial SESAM at 2 μm wavelength. Our results showed that graphene has significant advantages over the commercial SESAM, exhibiting ∼28% less absorptive cross‐section ratio of excited‐state to ground‐state and ∼50 times faster relaxation time. This implies that graphene can be exploited as a better mode‐locker than the current commercial SESAM for high power, high repetition rate and ultrafast mid‐infrared laser sources.  相似文献
