Convergence analysis of a nonlinear Lagrange algorithm for general nonlinear constrained optimization problems

The convergence analysis of a nonlinear Lagrange algorithm for solving nonlinear constrained optimization problems with both inequality and equality constraints is explored in detail. The estimates for the derivatives of the multiplier mapping and the solution mapping of the proposed algorithm are discussed via the technique of the singular value decomposition of matrix. Based on the estimates, the local convergence results and the rate of convergence of the algorithm are presented when the penalty parameter is less than a threshold under a set of suitable conditions on problem functions. Furthermore, the condition number of the Hessian of the nonlinear Lagrange function with respect to the decision variables is analyzed, which is closely related to efficiency of the algorithm. Finally, the preliminary numericM results for several typical test problems are reported.

In this paper, the lower semicontinuity of solution mapping to parametric generalized strong vector equilibrium problems without the assumptions of monotonicity and compactness is established by using a new proof method which is different from the ones used in the literature.

On Rockafellar’s theorem using proximal point algorithm involving -maximal monotonicity framework

On the basis of the general framework of H-maximal monotonicity (also referred to as H-monotonicity in the literature), a generalization to Rockafellar’s theorem in the context of solving a general inclusion problem involving a set-valued maximal monotone operator using the proximal point algorithm in a Hilbert space setting is explored. As a matter of fact, this class of inclusion problems reduces to a class of variational inequalities as well as to a class of complementarity problems. This proximal point algorithm turns out to be of interest in the sense that it plays a significant role in certain computational methods of multipliers in nonlinear programming. The notion of H-maximal monotonicity generalizes the general theory of set-valued maximal monotone mappings to a new level. Furthermore, some results on general firm nonexpansiveness and resolvent mapping corresponding to H-monotonicity are also given.

本文在去掉lim inf n→∞||xn||＜∞,∞∑n=0(kn-1)＜∞条件下,并用αn→o(n→∞)取代∑α2n＜∞,使用新的分析技巧,在赋范线性空间中建立了一致Lipschitz的渐近拟伪压缩型映象公共不动点的修改的广义Ishikawa迭代序列的强收敛定理,从而本质改进和推广了唐玉超,刘理蔚新近的结果.     

A new method for solving a system of generalized nonlinear variational inequalities in Banach spaces

The purpose of this paper is by using the generalized projection approach to introduce an iterative scheme for finding a solution to a system of generalized nonlinear variational inequality problem. Under suitable conditions, some existence and strong convergence theorems are established in uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach spaces. The results presented in the paper improve and extend some recent results.     

On Picard iterations for strongly accretive and strongly pseudo-contractive Lipschitz mappings

In this note, we speed up the convergence of the Picard sequence of iterations for strongly accretive and strongly pseudo-contractive mappings. Our results improve the results of Chidume [C.E. Chidume, Picard iteration for strongly accretive and strongly pseudo-contractive Lipschitz maps, ICTP Preprint no. IC2000098; C.E. Chidume, Iterative Algorithms for Non-expansive Mappings and Some of Their Generalizations, in: Nonlinear Analysis and Applications: To V. Lakshmikantham on his 80th Birthday, vol. 1, 2, Kluwer Acad. Publ, Dordrecht, 2003, pp. 383–429], and Liu [L. Liu, Approximation of fixed points of a strictly pseudo-contractive mapping, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 125 (2) (1997) 1363–1366], and some other known results. The technique of the proof, presented in this paper, is different from the technique used by Chidume.
