Abstract Let R be a prime ring and 𝒰(R) its group of units. We prove that if 𝒰(R) satisfies a group identity and 𝒰(R) generates R,then either R is a domain or R is isomorphic to the algebra of n × n matrices over a finite field of order d. Moreover the integers n and d depend only on the group identity satisfed by 𝒰(R). This result has been recently proved by C. H. Liu and T. K. Lee (Liu,C. H.; Lee,T. K. Here we present a new solution procedure for Helm-holtz and Laplacian Dirichlet screen and crack problems in IR2 via boundary integral equations of the first kind having as an unknown the jump of the normal derivative across the screen or a crack curve T. Under the assumption of local finite energy we show the equivalence of the integral equations and the original boundary value problem. Via the method of local Mellin transform in [5]-[lo] and the calculus of pseudodifferential operators we derive existence, uniqueness and regularity results for the solution of our boundary integral equations together with its explicit behaviour near the screen or crack tips.With our integral equations we set up a Galerkin scheme on T and obtain high quasi-optimal convergence rates by using special singular elements besides regular splines as test and trial functions. 相似文献

Let R be an integral domain with quotient field K and integral closure R ′. Anderson and Zafrullah called R an “almost valuation domain” if for every nonzero x ∈ K, there is a positive integer n such that either x n ∈ R or x ?n ∈ R. In this article, we introduce a new closely related class of integral domains. We define a prime ideal P of R to be a “pseudo-strongly prime ideal” if, whenever x, y ∈ K and xyP ? P, then there is a positive integer m ≥ 1 such that either x m ∈ R or y m P ? P. If each prime ideal of R is a pseudo-strongly prime ideal, then R is called a “pseudo-almost valuation domain” (PAVD). We show that the class of valuation domains, the class of pseudo-valuation domains, the class of almost valuation domains, and the class of almost pseudo-valuation domains are properly contained in the class of pseudo-almost valuation domains; also we show that the class of pseudo-almost valuation domains is properly contained in the class of quasilocal domains with linearly ordered prime ideals. Among the properties of PAVDs, we show that an integral domain R is a PAVD if and only if for every nonzero x ∈ K, there is a positive integer n ≥ 1 such that either x n ∈ R or ax ?n ∈ R for every nonunit a ∈ R. We show that pseudo-almost valuation domains are precisely the pullbacks of almost valuation domains, we characterize pseudo-almost valuation domains of the form D + M, and we use this characterization to construct PAVDs that are not almost valuation domains. We show that if R is a Noetherian PAVD, then R has Krull dimension at most one and R ′ is a valuation domain; we show that every overring of a PAVD R is a PAVD iff R ′ is a valuation domain and every integral overring of R is a PAVD. 相似文献

Many observations about coalgebras were inspired by comparable situations for algebras. Despite the prominent role of prime algebras, the theory of a corresponding notion for coalgebras was not well understood so far. Coalgebras C over fields may be called coprime provided the dual algebra C* is prime. This definition, however, is not intrinsic—it strongly depends on the base ring being a field. The purpose of the article is to provide a better understanding of related notions for coalgebras over commutative rings by employing traditional methods from (co)module theory, in particular (pre)torsion theory. Dualizing classical primeness condition, coprimeness can be defined for modules and algebras. These notions are developed for modules and then applied to comodules. We consider prime and coprime, fully prime and fully coprime, strongly prime and strongly coprime modules and comodules.
