The results of an experimental determination of the relative phase permeabilities during flow of two immiscible fluids in stratified sandstone with transversally isotropic characteristics are presented. The measurements were performed on samples oriented in three directions: along, perpendicular to and at an angle of 45° to the stratification plane. An approximate solution of the problem of steady two-phase flow toward a finite gallery in an anisotropic porous medium for arbitrary relative orientation of the gallery and the principal axes of the absolute permeability tensor is given. This solution was tested against the experimental results. The good agreement between the theoretical and experimental results makes it possible to recommend for engineering calculations both the relations between the absolute and phase permeabilities for transversally isotropic and orthotropic porous media and the approximate solution obtained.  相似文献

A solute transport through a porous medium is examined provided that the fluid leaving the porous sample returns back in a continuous way. The porous medium is thus included into a closed hydrodynamic circuit. This cycling process is suggested as an experimental tool to determine porous medium parameters describing transport. In the present paper the mathematical theory of this method is developed. For the advective type of transport with solute retention and degradation in porous medium, the system of transport equations in a closed circuit is transformed to a delay differential equation. The exact analytical solution to this equation is obtained. The solute concentration manifests both the oscillatory and monotonous behaviors depending on system parameters. The number of oscillation splashes is shown to be always finite. The maximum/minimum points are determined as solutions of a polynomial equation whose degree depends on the unknown solution itself. The cyclic methods to determine porous medium parameters as porosity and retention rate are developed.  相似文献

A theoretical analysis is presented of viscous incompressible laminar flow in a pipe which rotates around an axis held at small angle with respect to its symmetry-axis. Analogous to the results of Barua and Benton [1, 2], solutions in closed-form are given for circulatory flows in the cross-sectional plane of the pipe due to Coriolis forces in combination with Hagen-Poiseuille flow through the pipe. The solutions are used to derive analytical expressions for trajectories of solid or liquid particles entrained in the gas and being subject to centrifugation and the said secondary flows. It is shown that despite centrifugation, particles can be locked into circulatory trajectories thus remaining suspended in the gas flowing through the pipe.  相似文献

The distributions of phase saturations, pressure, and temperature in a porous medium of nonuniform permeability are studied by numerical modeling of nonisothermal two-phase filtration of oil and water with the Joule-Thomson effect and adiabatic effect taken into account. It is shown that the presence of nonuniformity in the near-well zone of the reservoir results in nonmonotonic angular and radial distributions of temperature and phase saturations. In this article an outline of studies conducted to date utilizing the process of electrospinning is presented. This overview for the first time focuses on research of composite nanofiber synthesis and their applications. The phenomenon of bringing materials to the nanometer scale not only improves their properties, but also creates entirely new ones. The electrospinning technique is a simple and versatile method that offers a time and cost effective production of strategic combinations of polymer and composites nanofibers useful for numerous applications highlighted in this review. A laboratory study including physical modeling of filtration processes in porous beds with similarity criteria satisfied is performed. The harmful effects of air pollution on humans are multifaceted and are closely linked to outbreaks of various infectious viruses. Thus, design of high-performance air filters that are lightweight, flexible, and easy to prepare is urgent. The electret air filter can utilize the electrostatic force of charge to capture dust particles, making it efficient and convenient, which is highly favored by people. In this study, a summary of the research on electret filters for highly efficient air purification is presented. First, this study outlines the mechanisms of air filtration methods and discusses three factors that evaluate filter performance. The methods of manufacturing electret air filters are then presented, and the advantages and limitations of different methods are discussed. Then, electrification, including corona discharge, friction electrification, electrospinning, thermal electrification, and water electrification as methods, enhances the physical charge adsorption performance of materials, while the use of fluorinate polymer, non-fluorinate polymer, and biobased polymer as functional substrates exhibits varying degrees of electrification effects. Different materials and manufacturing techniques give the filters additional advantages, such as being self-degradable and antibacterial. Finally, the challenges that remain in the development of electret filters for use in air purification are also discussed in terms of material type and fabrication technology. It is expected that highly efficient air purification with low energy consumption can be achieved by electret filters with multifunctional capabilities.  相似文献
