Delayed fracture due to debonding can be observed in many unidirectional fibre-reinforced composites when the fibre/matrix interface experiences creep. The aim of this work is to describe such a phenomenon within the recently proposed modeling framework of transverse isotropy that allows for a neat decomposition of the mechanical behavior into fibre-directional, transverse, and pure shear parts. Specifically, debonding is here chosen to be governed by the tension transverse to the fibres. One can then speak of a mode-I debonding if use is made of the terminology adopted in fracture mechanics. On another hand, the time-dependent response is attributed to the matrix constituent. As the role of this latter is to deform and support stresses primarily in shear, a viscoelastic behavior is introduced that affects solely the pure shear part of the behavior. We show that both characteristics can be easily embedded into the aforementioned formulation. Among others, the occurrence of tertiary creep is made possible to predict. It is otherwise found that the predicted debonding path always propagates along the direction of the fibres in agreement with many experimental observations found in the literature. On the numerical side, the algorithmic treatment of debonding is independent of the one for viscoelasticity. In Banach spaces ordered by a normal cone that contains interior points the positive invertibility of operators is studied. If there exists a uniformly positive functional then any positively invertible operator A possesses a B -decomposition, i.e., a positive decomposition A = U – V with the properties: U–1 exists, VU–1 ≥ 0, Ax ≥ 0, U x ≥ 0 imply x ≥ 0 and r (VU–1) < 1. Earlier it was shown that the existence of a B -decomposition with r (VU–1) < 1 is sufficient for the positive invertibility of the operator A. Allyl alcohol (AA), acrylonitrile (AN), methyl methacrylate (MMA), monomers and monomer mixtures AA+AN, AA+MMA were used to conserve and consolidate Beech and Spruce. After impregnation, copolymerisation and polymerisation were accomplished by gamma irradiation. The fine structure of wood+polymer(copolymer) composites was investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). It was observed that copolymer obtained from AA+MMA monomer mixture showed the optimum compatibility. The compressional strength and Brinell Hardness Numbers determined for untreated and treated wood samples indicated that the mechanical strength of wood+copolymer composites was increased. It was found that the mechanical strength of the wood samples containing the AA+MMA copolymer was higher than the others. In the presence of P(AA/MMA), at highest conversion, the compressive strength perpendicular to the fibres in Beech and Spruce increased approximately 100 times. The water uptake capacity of wood+copolymer composites was observed to decrease by more than 50% relative to the original samples, and biodegradation did not take place. 相似文献

Comparison techniques for difference equations are used to find sufficient conditions for population persistence or extinction. The persistence and extinction theorem is used to define the critical patch number, the threshold for population persistence. The systems that we are treating are assumed to have time-varying delays in their dynamics which can be different and also have uncertainties in the system parameters. The time-varying structure of the bounded uncertainties is considered. Delay-dependent conditions for stochastic stability and stochastic stabilizability and their robustness are considered.
