Data obtained in investigating the creep of expanded polystyrene in compression are discussed. An analysis of the results
of creep tests 65–608 days long showed that the creep can be predicted for 50 years based on experiments of less duration
than the 605 days indicated in EN 13163. For this purpose, it is suggested to employ a 95-fold extrapolation in time if the
creep curves are described by a power function (as recommended by EN 13163) or a 50-fold extrapolation if the exponential
equation proposed in the present paper is used.

Most papers in scheduling research have treated individual job processing times as fixed parameters. However, in many practical situations, a manager may control processing time by realloeating resources. In this paper, authors consider a machine scheduling problemwith controllable processing times. In the first part of this paper, a special case where the pro-cessing times and compression costs are uniform among jobs is discussed. Theoretical results are derived that aid in developing an O(n^2) algorithm to slove the problem optimally. Applying a Lindemann like criterion obtained previously by Kierfeld et al. [J. Kierfeld, T. Nattermann, T. Hwa, Phys. Rev. B 55 (1997) 626], we estimate the magnetic field and temperature for a high-Tc superconductor, at which a topologically ordered vortex glass phase becomes unstable with respect to a disorder-induced formation of dislocations. The employed criterion is shown to be equivalent to a conventional phenomenological Lindemann criterion including the values for the numerical factors, i.e., for the Lindemann number. Orthogonal WAVElet correction (OWAVEC) is a pre-processing method aimed at simultaneously accomplishing two essential needs in multivariate calibration, signal correction and data compression, by combining the application of an orthogonal signal correction algorithm to remove information unrelated to a certain response with the great potential that wavelet analysis has shown for signal processing. In the previous version of the OWAVEC method, once the wavelet coefficients matrix had been computed from NIR spectra and deflated from irrelevant information in the orthogonalization step, effective data compression was achieved by selecting those largest correlation/variance wavelet coefficients serving as the basis for the development of a reliable regression model. This paper presents an evolution of the OWAVEC method, maintaining the first two stages in its application procedure (wavelet signal decomposition and direct orthogonalization) intact but incorporating genetic algorithms as a wavelet coefficients selection method to perform data compression and to improve the quality of the regression models developed later. Several specific applications dealing with diverse NIR regression problems are analyzed to evaluate the actual performance of the new OWAVEC method. 用遗传算法(GA)与交互检验(CV)相结合建立了一种用于对近红外光谱(NIR)数据及其离散小波变换(DWT)系数进行变量筛选的方法,并应用于烟草样品中总挥发碱和总氮的同时测定。结果表明:NIR数据经DWT压缩为原始大小的3.3%时基本没有光谱信息的丢失;有效的变量筛选可以极大地减少模型中的变量个数,降低模型的复杂程度,改善预测的准确度。 相似文献

Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) endemic has havoc on the world; the causative virus of the pandemic is SARS CoV-2. Pharmaceutical companies and academic institutes are in continuous efforts to identify anti-viral therapy or vaccines, but the most significant challenge faced is the highly evolving genome of SARS CoV-2, which is imparting evolutionary selective benefits to the virus. To understand the viral mutations, we have retrieved nine hundred and thirty-four samples from different states of India via the GISAID database and analyzed the frequency of all types of point mutation in all structural, non-structural proteins, and accessory factors of SARS CoV-2. Spike glycol protein, nsp3, nsp6, nsp12, N and NS3 were the most evolving proteins. High frequency point mutations were Q496P (nsp2), A380V (nsp4), A994D (nsp3), L37F (nsp6), P323L & A97V (nsp12), Q57H (ns3), D614G (S), P13L (N), R203K (N), G204R (N) and S194L (N). 相似文献
