Bredon cohomology of cyclic geometric realization of G -cyclic sets

We define equivariant cyclic and Hochschild cohomology modules of a cyclic objectX in the category ofG-sets and relate them with the Bredon cohomologies of the cyclic geometric realization |X|^cy.     

Characteristic classes of flat bundles, II

On a smooth varietyX defined over a fieldK of characteristic zero, one defines characteristic classes of bundles with an integrableK-connection in a group lifting the Chow group, which map, whenK is the field of complex numbers andX is proper, to Cheeger-Simons' secondary analytic invariants, compatibly with the cycle map in the Deligne cohomology.     

Bivariant Chern character and longitudinal index

In this paper we consider a family of Dirac-type operators on fibration P→B equivariant with respect to an action of an étale groupoid. Such a family defines an element in the bivariant K theory. We compute the action of the bivariant Chern character of this element on the image of Connes' map Φ in the cyclic cohomology. A particular case of this result is Connes' index theorem for étale groupoids [A. Connes, Noncommutative Geometry, Academic Press, 1994] in the case of fibrations.     

Central Pairs, Galois Theory and Automorphic Forms

A central pair over a field k of characteristic 0 consists of a finite Abelian group which is equipped with a central 2-cocycle with values in the multiplicative group k ^* of k. In this paper we use specific central pairs to construct a class of projective representations of the absolute Galois group G _k of k and if k is a number field we investigate the liftings of these projective representations to linear representations of G _k . In particular we relate these linear representations to automorphic representations. It turns out that some of these automorphic representations correspond to certain indefinite modular forms already constructed by E. Hecke.     

Weight functions on groups and an amenability criterion for Beurling algebras

The paper is devoted to the study of weights on groups. A connection between weight functions and harmonic functions is established. A relationship between the weight theory on groups with the “Tychonoff property” and the theory of bounded cohomology is presented. It is proved that the Beurling algebraℓ1 (G, ω) constructed for the weightω is amenable if and only if the groupG is amenable and the weightω is equivalent to a multiplicative characterχ:G→ℝ₊. Floer–Novikov cohomology and the flux conjecture

Brown–Peterson Cohomology from Morava K-Theory

We give some structure to the Brown–Peterson cohomology (or its p-completion) of a wide class of spaces. The class of spaces are those with Morava K-theory even-dimensional. We can say that the Brown–Peterson cohomology is even-dimensional (concentrated in even degrees) and is flat as a BP*-module for the category of finitely presented BP*(BP)-modules. At first glance this would seem to be a very restricted class of spaces but the world abounds with naturally occurring examples: Eilenberg-Mac Lane spaces, loops of finite Postnikov systems, classifying spaces of most finite groups whose Morava K-theory is known (including the symmetric groups), QS²ⁿ, BO(n), MO(n), BO, Im J, etc. We finish with an explicit algebraic construction of the Brown–Peterson cohomology of a product of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces and a general Künneth isomorphism applicable to our situation.     

Dirac cohomology of unitary representations of equal rank exceptional groups

In this paper, we consider the unitary representations of equal rank exceptional groups of type E with a regular lambda-lowest K-type and classify those unitary representations with the nonzero Dirac cohomology.
