We study a strongly coupled system consisting of a parabolic equation and a singular Hamilton–Jacobi equation in one space dimension. This system describes the dynamics of dislocation densities in a material submitted to an exterior applied stress. Our system is a natural extension of that studied in [16 Ibrahim , H. ( 2009 ). Existence and uniqueness for a non-linear parabolic/Hamilton–Jacobi coupled system describing the dynamics of dislocation densities . Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Anal. The equations are written on a bounded interval with Dirichlet boundary conditions and require special attention to the boundary. We prove a result of global existence of a solution. The method of the proof consists in considering first a parabolic regularization of the full system, and then passing to the limit. Weak solutions to parabolic integro-differential operators of order α ∈ (α0, 2) are studied. Local a priori estimates of Hölder norms and a weak Harnack inequality are proved. In this paper the white-noise paraxial wave model is considered. This model describes for instance the propagation of laser beams in the atmosphere in some typical scaling regimes. The closed-form equations for the second- and fourth-order moments of the field are solved in two particular situations. The first situation corresponds to a random medium with a transverse correlation radius smaller than the beam radius. This is the spot-dancing regime: the beam shape spreads out as in a homogeneous medium and its center is randomly shifted according to a Gaussian process whose variance grows like the third power of the propagation distance. The second situation corresponds to a plane-wave initial condition, a small amplitude for the medium fluctuations, and a large propagation distance. This is the scintillation regime: the normalized variance of the intensity converges to one exponentially with the propagation distance, corresponding to strong intensity fluctuations and in agreement with the conjecture that the statistics of the field becomes complex Gaussian.  相似文献

Abstract

We study linear stochastic partial differential equations of parabolic type with special boundary conditions in time. The standard Cauchy condition at the initial time is replaced by a condition that mixes the values of the solution at different times, including the terminal time and continuously distributed times. We show finite difference analogues of maximal regularity results for discretizations of abstract linear parabolic problems. The involved spaces are discrete versions of spaces of Hölder continuous functions, which can be singular in 0. In this article, we shall give a brief review on the fully discrete mixed finite element method for general optimal control problems governed by parabolic equations. The state and the co-state are approximated by the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise constant elements. Furthermore, we derive a posteriori error estimates for the finite element approximation solutions of optimal control problems. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate our theoretical results.  相似文献
