The use of Chebyshev cardinal functions for the solution of a partial differential equation with an unknown time-dependent coefficient subject to an extra measurement

A numerical technique is presented for the solution of a parabolic partial differential equation with a time-dependent coefficient subject to an extra measurement. The method is derived by expanding the required approximate solution as the elements of Chebyshev cardinal functions. Using the operational matrix of derivative, the problem can be reduced to a set of algebraic equations. From the computational point of view, the solution obtained by this method is in excellent agreement with those obtained by previous works and also it is efficient to use.     

Some Mixed Problems for Semilinear Parabolic type Equation

In this paper, some mixed problem with third type boundary value for a semilinear parabolic equation is investigated. Here the solvability theorems for considered problem and the uniqueness theorem for a model case of the problem are showed.     

Computational algorithm for a distributed optimal control problem of parabolic type with terminal inequality constraints

A computational algorithm for optimal control problems with control and terminal inequality constraints involving first boundary-value problems of parabolic type is presented. The convergence properties are also studied.This work, which was partly supported by the Australian Research Grants Committee, was done during the period when Z. S. Wu was an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the School of Mathematics at the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Evolutionary Boussinesq model with nonmonotone friction and heat flux boundary conditions

In this paper we prove the existence and regularity of a solution to a two-dimensional system of evolutionary hemivariational inequalities which describes the Boussinesq model with nonmonotone friction and heat flux. We use the time retardation and regularization technique, combined with a regularized Galerkin method, and recent results from the theory of hemivariational inequalities.     

Parabolic subgroups in FC-type Artin groups

Parabolic subgroups are the building blocks of Artin groups. This paper extends previous results of Cumplido, Gebhardt, Gonzales-Meneses and Wiest, known only for parabolic subgroups of finite type Artin groups, to parabolic subgroups of FC-type Artin groups. We show that the class of finite type parabolic subgroups is closed under intersection. We also study an analog of the curve complex for mapping class group constructed by Cumplido et al. using parabolic subgroups. We extend the construction of this complex, called the complex of parabolic subgroups, to FC-type Artin groups. We show that this simplicial complex is, in most cases, infinite diameter and conjecture that it is δ-hyperbolic.
