New Branch-and-Cut Algorithm for Bilevel Linear Programming

Linear mixed 0–1 integer programming problems may be reformulated as equivalent continuous bilevel linear programming (BLP) problems. We exploit these equivalences to transpose the concept of mixed 0–1 Gomory cuts to BLP. The first phase of our new algorithm generates Gomory-like cuts. The second phase consists of a branch-and-bound procedure to ensure finite termination with a global optimal solution. Different features of the algorithm, in particular, the cut selection and branching criteria are studied in details. We propose also a set of algorithmic tests and procedures to improve the method. Finally, we illustrate the performance through numerical experiments. Our algorithm outperforms pure branch-and-bound when tested on a series of randomly generated problems. Regularity of Harmonic Functions in Cheeger-Type Sobolev Spaces

We give a geometric approach to the study of the regularity of harmonic functions in Cheeger-type Sobolev spaces, and prove the Hölder continuity of such functions. In the proof, we give a definition of an upper curvature bound of the unit sphere of a Banach space, which seems to be of independent interest.     

Idealization of a decomposition theorem

In 1986, Tong [13] proved that a function f : (X,τ)→(Y,φ) is continuous if and only if it is α-continuous and A-continuous. We extend this decomposition of continuity in terms of ideals. First, we introduce the notions of regular-I-closed sets, A _I-sets and A _I -continuous functions in ideal topological spaces and investigate their properties. Then, we show that a function f : (X,τ,I)→(Y, φ) is continuous if and only if it is α-I-continuous and A _I-continuous. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

α-FUZZY PAIRWISE RETRACT OF L-VALUED PAIRWISE STRATIFICATION SPACES

The notion of a fuzzy retract was introduced by Rodabaugh (1981). The notion of a fuzzy pairwise retract was introduced in 2001. Some weak forms and some strong forms of α-continuous mappings were introduced in 1988 and 1997. The authors extend some of these forms to the L-fuzzy bitopological setting and construct various α-fuzzy pairwise retracts. The concept of weakly induced spaces in the case L = [0,1] was introduced by Martin (1980). Liu and Luo (1987) generalized this notion to the case that L is an arbitrary F-lattice and introduced the notion of induced L-fts. Several results are obtained, especially, for L-valued pairwise stratification spaces.     

ON DIRICHLET TYPE SPACES AND α-BLOCH SPACES IN THE UNIT BALL OF Cn

In this paper, the authors study the inclusion relations between Dirichlet type spaces DT and α-Bloch spacesβα by means of higher radial derivative. The strictness and the best possibility of the inclusion relations are shown with constructive methods.Furthermore, they sharpen one of the results when T = n, which proves that a conjecture in [7] is true.     

Cauchy problem in the class of monotone increasing functions

The paper establishes some solvability conditions of the Cauchy problem for linear differential equation in the class of monotone increasing functions. The results are applied for clarifying the possibility of flight along a given trajectory under existence of braking forces.

用光栅衍射法测试液体表面张力

利用π型直线状振源，在待测液面产生正弦形表面驻波，将其作为一种理想的反射式光栅，通过对激光束的衍射，形成线阵衍射光斑．借助LCCD等硬件测试系统及相应的数据采集与处理系统，实时准确地测量液体表面张力。
