Using conformal coordinates associated with conformal relativity—associated with de Sitter spacetime homeomorphic projection into Minkowski spacetime—we obtain a conformal Klein-Gordon partial differential equation, which is intimately related to the production of quasi-normal modes (QNMs) oscillations, in the context of electromagnetic and/or gravitational perturbations around, e.g., black holes. While QNMs arise as the solution of a wave-like equation with a Pöschl-Teller potential, here we deduce and analytically solve a conformal ‘radial’ d’Alembert-like equation, from which we derive QNMs formal solutions, in a proposed alternative to more completely describe QNMs. As a by-product we show that this ‘radial’ equation can be identified with a Schrödinger-like equation in which the potential is exactly the second Pöschl-Teller potential, and it can shed some new light on the investigations concerning QNMs. 相似文献

The effect of delay, nonlinearity and noise on oscillatory motion is of permanent interest for theoretical and experimental research. Here we explore a negative feedback loop between p53 and Mdm2 with a time delay, which is a key circuit in the response of cells to damage. This circuit shows noisy sustained oscillations in individual human cells following DNA damage, and damped oscillations at the cell population level. We demonstrate the effect of delay on the oscillation, and the correlation in time course. In a multi-species system, the events at different time points which span a time delay are coupled even when the delay is large compared with the other characteristic times of the system. We also clarify that the dynamics at the single-cell level appears to be coherent resonance, and the origin of the damped oscillation at the macroscopic level out of the sustained ones at the single-cell level can be ascribed to the dephasing process which is induced by the interplay between nonlinearity and noise. The findings are consistent with experimental observations and advance our understanding of the dynamics of the p53 network. 相似文献

In a wide range of systems, the relaxation in response to an initial pulse has been experimentally found to follow a nonlinear relationship for the mean squared displacement, of the kind 〈x2(t)〉∝tα, where α may be greater or smaller than 1. Such phenomena have been described under the generic term of anomalous diffusion. “Lévy flights” stochastic processes lead to superdiffusive behaviour (1<α<2) and have been recently proposed to model—among the others—the subsurface contaminant spread in highly heterogeneous media under the effects of water flow. In this paper, within the continuous-time random walk (CTRW) approach to anomalous diffusion, we compare the analytical solution of the approximated fractional diffusion equation (FDE) with the Monte Carlo one, obtained by simulating the superdiffusive behaviour of an ensemble of particle in a medium. We show that the two are neatly different as the process approaches the standard diffusive behaviour. We argue that this is due to a truncation in the Fourier space expansion introduced by the FDE approach. We propose a second-order correction to this expansion and numerically solve the CTRW model under this hypothesis: the accuracy of the results thus obtained is validated through Monte Carlo simulation over all the superdiffusive range. The same kind of discrepancy is shown to occur also in the derivation of the fractional moments of the distribution: analogous corrections are proposed and validated through the Monte Carlo approach. 相似文献

An extended Fan's algebraic method is used for constructing exact traveling wave solution of nonlinear partial differential equations. The key idea of this method is to introduce an auxiliary ordinary differential equation which is regarded as an extended elliptic equation and
whose degree r is expanded to the case of r>4. The efficiency of the
method is demonstrated by the KdV equation and the variant Boussinesq
equations. The results indicate that the method not only offers all
