It is shown that amine-terminated poly(aryl ether ketone)s based on the reaction of 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone, and a substituted hydroquinone [either methylhydroquinone (MePK), t-butylhydroquinone (tBPK), or phenylhydroquinone (PhPK)] of controlled molecular weight and high amine-termination efficiency can be synthesized by a two-step reaction technique. Attempts to synthesize analogous materials by a one-step method were shown to be unsuccessful. The side groups are shown to have a large influence on the aromatic proton chemical shifts and this effect is characterized. The side groups and molecular weight are also shown to influence the thermal transitions of the respective polymers. The tBPK polymer possessed the highest glass transition temperature, while the MePK polymer was found to be the only semi-crystalline polymer; a unit cell is proposed. The side groups and molecular weight effects are also characterized as a function of thermal stability and mechanical properties. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Functional group gradient surfaces where the density of functional groups changes gradually along the sample length were prepared. The functional group (? COOH, ? CONH2, and ? OH group) gradient surfaces were produced by the treatment of low-density PE sheets using a corona with gradually increasing power, followed by the graft copolymerization of acrylic acid and subsequent substitution reaction of carboxylic acid groups to amide or hydroxyl groups. The prepared gradient surfaces were characterized by the measurement of water contact angle, FTIR-ATR, and ESCA. The gradient surfaces prepared can be used to systematically investigate the interactions of biological or other species in terms of the surface functional groups and their density of polymeric materials. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

It was found that amines were formed efficiently by the photolysis of O-acyloximes followed by hydrolysis in polystyrene films and the relationship between structures of O-acyloximes and yields of amines were investigated. O-phenylacetyl acetophenone oxime (PaApO), O-pivaloyl acetophenone oxime (PApO), and O-benzoyl acetophenone oxime (BApO) as monofunctional O-acyloximes and O,O′-succinyl diacetophenone oxime (SDApO) and O,O′-glutaryl diacetophenone oxime (GDApO) as bifunctional O-acyloximes were examined. The yields of amines for PaApO and SDApO under N2 were ca. 70%, which was the highest among O-acyloximes examined in this experiment. On the other hand, the yields for PApO, BApO, and GDApO were less than 15% and it was verified that the hydrogen abstraction by imino radicals via 6-membered cyclic intermediates resulted in the lowering of yields. Although the effect of oxygen under photolysis on the yields of amine for PaApO was negligible under 50% conversion of PaApO, the yield decreased with further increase in the conversion and was 50% at 90% conversion. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Several batches of poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide were synthesized by anionic and by group transfer polymerization (GTP). A radical poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide prepared from the same monomer was also included in the comparison. According to matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) both types of living polymerization resulted in narrow molecular weight distributions with Mw/Mn values below 1.5. Average molecular weights (Mn) between 888 and 4678 g/mol were calculated in these cases. The radical polymer had an average molecular weight (Mn) of approximately 130,000 g/mol. The dry anionic and GTP polymers were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and x-ray diffraction spectrometry. Evidence for partial crystallinity in the solid state was found. The conformation of all polymers was examined by high resolution (600 MHz) NMR. According to these measurements, 75% of the ? CHR? groups of the anionic poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide were located in an isotactic triade. The remaining 25% had heterotactic structure, while no indication for the presence of syndiotactic protons was found. Poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide prepared by GTP, on the other hand, had mainly syndiotactic structure. The aqueous solutions of the polymers showed phase separation upon heating. Whereas the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) was approximately 30°C in the case of the poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide prepared by GTP and by radical polymerization, uncommonly high LCSTs of more than 40°C were observed for the anionic poly-N,N-diethylacrylamide. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

将水杨醛与碱和氯甲基甲基醚反应, 再经过NaBH4还原, 即制得邻(甲氧基甲氧基)苯甲醇, 然后将其在DMF中与NaH和二(或三)甘醇二对甲苯磺酸酯反应, 得开链冠醚1a和1b。1a和1b经稀酸水解, 即脱保护而分别生成新的酚型开链冠醚2a和2b。用2a与二甘醇二对甲苯磺酸酯和NaH在DMF溶液中反应, 合成顺型二苯并-20-冠-6(3); 而2a与环氧氯丙烷在NaOH水溶液中反应, 则合成了17-羟基二苯并-18-冠-5(4)。  相似文献

Two LC side‐group poly(methacrylates) were synthesized, and their melt dynamics were compared with each other and a third, main‐chain side‐group combined LC polymer. A new route was developed for the synthesis of the poly(methacrylate) polymers which readily converts relatively inexpensive perdeuteromethyl methacrylate to other methacrylate monomers. Self‐diffusion data was obtained through the use of forward recoil spectrometry, while modulus and viscosity data were measured using rotational rheometers in oscillatory shear. Diffusion coefficients and complex viscosity were compared to previous experiments on liquid crystal polymers of similar architecture to determine the effect of side‐group interdigitation and chain packing on center of mass movement. The decyl terminated LC side‐group polymer possessed an interdigitated smectic phase and a sharp discontinuity in the self‐diffusion behavior at the clearing transition. In contrast, the self‐diffusion behavior of the methyl terminated LC side‐group polymer, which possessed head‐to‐head side‐group packing, was seemingly unaffected by the smectic–nematic and nematic–isotropic phase transitions. The self‐diffusion coefficients of both polymers were relatively insensitive to the apparent glass transition. The presence of moderately fast sub‐Tg chain motion was supported by rheological measurements that provided further evidence of considerable molecular motion below Tg. The complex phase behavior of the combined main‐chain side‐group polymer heavily influenced both the self‐diffusion and rheological behavior. Differences between the self‐diffusion and viscosity data of the main‐chain side‐group polymer could be interpreted in terms of the defect structure. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
