We consider a system of hyperbolic nonlinear equations describing the dynamics of interaction between optical and acoustic modes of a complex crystal lattice (without a symmetry center) consisting of two sublattices. This system can be considered a nonlinear generalization of the well-known Born-Huang Kun model to the case of arbitrarily large sublattice displacements. For a suitable choice of parameters, the system reduces to the sine-Gordon equation or to the classical equations of elasticity theory. If we introduce physically natural dissipative forces into the system, then we can prove that a compact attractor exists and that trajectories converge to equilibrium solutions. In the one-dimensional case, we describe the structure of equilibrium solutions completely and obtain asymptotic solutions for the wave propagation. In the presence of inhomogeneous perturbations, this system is reducible to the well-known Hopfield model describing the attractor neural network and having complex behavior regimes.__________Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 143, No. 3, pp. 357–367, June, 2005.  相似文献

对自锁模掺钛宝石激光器的原理作了较详细的描述,指出克尔透镜效应是形成自锁模的主要原因,但是,只有将克尔透镜自聚焦、振荡光参数和泵浦光参数三者结合起来考虑,才能全面了解自锁模的形成过程,本文从速率方程出发,得出了激光介质增益与光束参数的相对变化曲线,并据此来优化自锁模钛宝石激光器的设计,最后,将计算结果与实验作了比较,两者符合得较好。  相似文献

We justify variational principles of a new type corresponding to bifurcations of solutions for families of equations given in variational form. To illustrate the method, we consider elliptic equations with sign-indefinite nonlinearities and prove the existence of pairwise creation-annihilation bifurcations of their positive solutions. The corresponding bifurcation points are expressed via explicitly specified variational principles.  相似文献

This paper analyzes the high bit-rate optical pulse trasmission in single mode optical fiber with chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion (small random birefringence) and nonlinearity. Numerical method employed can precisely describe their interactive effect on transmission performance. Different dispersion maps and the related performance are analysed. Various simulation results and discussion are given. The results show that chromatic dispersion compensation should be carefully designed. Appropriate dispersion management can also alleviate the effect of polarization mode dispersion.  相似文献

The paper investigates and compares a range of different models currently used for modelling nonlinear optical phenomena. The models are implemented in the numerical time domain Transmission Line Modelling (TLM) method and include a Kerr model and different formulations of the Duffing model. The models are used to simulate an all-optical limiter for a CW input and results compared with ones available in the literature. This enables a comparison to be made between the different models, from which it is concluded that the Duffing model has some advantages, when modelling materials and phenomena involving more than one frequency, arising from its ability to describe dispersive effects. These conclusions are further supported by the simulation results obtained for a pulse input.  相似文献

In 1983, Patterson and Wiedemann constructed Boolean functions on n=15 input variables having nonlinearity strictly greater than 2n-1-2(n-1)/2. Construction of Boolean functions on odd number of variables with such high nonlinearity was not known earlier and also till date no other construction method of such functions are known. We note that the Patterson-Wiedemann construction can be understood in terms of interleaved sequences as introduced by Gong in 1995 and subsequently these functions can be described as repetitions of a particular binary string. As example we elaborate the cases for n=15,21. Under this framework, we map the problem of finding Patterson-Wiedemann functions into a problem of solving a system of linear inequalities over the set of integers and provide proper reasoning about the choice of the orbits. This, in turn, reduces the search space. Similar analysis also reduces the complexity of calculating autocorrelation and generalized nonlinearity for such functions. In an attempt to understand the above construction from the group theoretic view point, we characterize the group of all GF(2)-linear transformations of GF(2ab) which acts on PG(2,2a).  相似文献

In this paper three‐dimensional lubrication flow of grease is analysed numerically. The lubrication flow configuration is formed by two ellipsoid rollers. The load is assumed to be light enough for the lubrication mode to be purely hydrodynamic. The fluid behaviour is modelled using the Herschel–Bulkley model, and a two‐dimensional modified Reynolds equation is derived. The numerical solutions are obtained by using a hybrid spectral/iterative technique and the Galerkin projection scheme. The effects of the material and geometrical parameters on pressure distribution are emphasized in the study. The investigation is conducted for a situation where the two ellipsoids are fully immersed in a grease lubricant. The effect of the geometry on the pressure distribution is determined by varying the ratio of the semi‐axes and the minimum gap of the two rollers, respectively. The effect of the material parameters is examined by varying the power‐law index and yield stress. It is found that the pressure distribution is strongly influenced by the shape of the rollers, the size of the minimum gap of the rollers and the rheological parameters.
