In this paper, 10 Gbps optical soliton transmission link using in-line semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) for already installed standard single mode fibers (SMF) at 1.3 μm wavelength has been reported. The pattern effect and the impact of chirp on pulse propagation after amplification have been investigated. The observations are based on modeling and simulation optical soliton transmission link. Optical soliton pulse transmission over distances of the order of several hundreds of kilometers has been shown with and without initial chirp. 相似文献

Polyethylene terephthalates (PETs) with well‐defined chemical structures were prepared by molecular design, and the effect of the chemical structure on the physical properties of PET was investigated. Hydroxyl‐group end‐capped PETs with ηinh = 0.4–0.6 dL/g exhibited a viscosity behavior similar to Bingham fluids, although other PETs with similar molecular weights (MWs) showed Newtonian flow behavior. This rheological feature was more noticeable for hydroxyl‐group end‐capped branched PETs. In addition, hydroxyl‐group end‐capped branched PETs became solidlike from 80 rad/s as the frequency was increased. On the other hand, hydroxyl end‐capped linear PETs showed a noticeable viscoelastic transition peak around 20 rad/s. Amorphous polymers below their glass‐transition temperature are inherently not at equilibrium. As a result, their structures continuously relax in an attempt to reach the equilibrium state. The current models of structural recovery can quantitatively describe the process. One of the parameters needed for the models is the nonlinearity parameter x. It has been proposed that x can be obtained from experimental data with the so‐called peak‐shift method. In this work, we use the Tool–Narayanaswamy–Moynihan model to identify the factors that determine the accuracy of the peak‐shift method and to quantify the errors in the value of x obtained from the peak‐shift method. In addition, we determine the influence of the error in x on the evaluation of the nonexponential model parameter β. The inversion of strong scatterer embedded in the half-space is an important problem in engineering and a very difficult nonlinear
problem in mathematics, for which the Born iterative method is of no effect. In this paper the moment method is used in the

The effect of variable viscosity on the peristaltic flow of a Newtonian fluid in an asymmetric channel has been discussed. Asymmetry in the flow is induced due to travelling waves of different phase and amplitude which propagate along the channel walls. A long wavelength approximation is used in the flow analysis. Closed form analytic solutions for velocity components and longitudinal pressure gradient are obtained. The study also shows that, in addition to the effect of mean flow parameter, the wave amplitude also effect the peristaltic flow. The objective of this work is to investigate through the numeric simulation, the effects of the weakly viscoelastic flow within a rotating rectangular duct subject to a buoyancy force due to the heating of one of the walls of the duct. A direct velocity–pressure algorithm in primitive variables with a Neumann condition for the pressure is employed. The spatial discretization is made with finite central differences on a staggered grid. The pressure field is directly updated without any iteration. Numerical simulations were done for several Weissemberg numbers (We) and Grashof numbers (Gr) . The numerical results show that for high Weissemberg numbers (We>7.4 × 10?5) and for ducts with aspect ratio 2:1 and 8:1, the secondary flow is restabilized with a stretched double vortex configuration. It is also observed that when the Grashof number is increased (Gr>17 × 10?4) , the buoyancy force neutralizes the effects of the Coriolis force for ducts with aspect ratio 8:1. In the paper, we try to study the mechanism of the existence of Gaussian waves in high degree logarithmic nonlinear wave motions. We first construct two model equations which include the high order dispersion and a second degree logarithmic nonlinearity. And then we prove that the Gaussian waves can exist for high degree logarithmic nonlinear wave equations if the balance between the dispersion and logarithmic nonlinearity is kept. Our mathematical tool is the logarithmic trial equation method. 相似文献
